Get ready for an all-new British invasion. No, it's not the Beatles or the Jaguar F-Type this time. This time it's from the legendary McLaren outfit.

As we've been bringing you teasers and all the information about McLaren's latest sports car, the Sport Series, we just got another good tip. According to Autocar who spoke with McLaren's CEO, Mike Flewitt, the all-new entry-level sports car that's internally known as P13 will produce "well over" 500 horsepower.

The company will be using a variant of the 3.8-liter V8 found in the 650S and P1 supercar. My thinking all along has been that the company will use a naturally aspirated powerplant but perhaps it will go with a single turbo set up?

We're not far off from the Sport Series' 2015 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) debut. Time will tell!


...The power output is still secret, but it is understood that the car will use a version of McLaren’s twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 making “well over” 500bhp.

Its weight and dimensions are likely to mirror those of the 650S, but it won’t have that car’s interconnected suspension or active aerodynamics. The Sports Series should have a 0-60mph time of less than 4.0sec and a top speed of at least 180mph...
