Russia’s flagship auto racing track has revealed that it is looking to attract additional major international motorsport series after Formula One has put it on the map.

The inaugural F1 Russian Grand Prix was held last year and takes place in the coastal resort of Sochi. The track is formed from public roads which snake around the facilities used to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. It makes for a powerful Olympic legacy project as F1 is the world’s most-watched annual sports series with 425 million television viewers last year. It puts the eyes of the world on Sochi which drives tourism to the destination. It has also built a business platform in its own right which the race organiser is now looking to expand.
