Volkswagen has been under intense scrutiny for its role in selling an insane amount of diesel cars fitted with a cheat device in the US. The automaker has been told by the US Government that it needs to fix its vehicles, but VW has not figured out a way to do that yet. There’s no final word on what penalties VW will be smacked with for the scandal, but one possible outcome is that the automaker will be forced to build electric cars in the US. While making electric vehicles isn't necessarily easy, it seems like VW is getting off a little easy.
