If there's one thing we know about Lamborghini, it's that the Italian supercar manufacturer certainly knows how to keep a good thing going. In other words, much like we've seen with cars like the Ford Mustang and Porsche 911, you can introduce plenty of variants and special editions to keep a vehicle's sales momentum going.

The Huracan is just out of the gates and we've got the standard coupe, the rear-wheel drive coupe and the Huracan Spyder. Next up is the big dog.

That would be the Huracan Superleggera. In other words, it's the more badass, hardcore, track-inspired version.

In its previous life as the Gallardo, there was a Superleggera variant that dropped weight, utilized more carbon fiber, added a fixed rear spoiler and, overall, made the vehicle a more hardcore vehicle. The results were outstanding. We're expecting the same this 'go around.

These first spy shots show the Huracan working its way around local roads. There's a couple giveaways that this isn't your run-of-the-milll Huracan. First off, the rear quarter windows look like Lexan, which is what's used in place of glass to save weight. Take a good look at how the sun bounces off the window. In addition, the rear end has been modified. Sure, the car is equipped with a quad-tipped exhaust but we wager that those are dummy tips and the real thing is hiding behind that peculiar grille that's made its way onto this prototype.
