Even in challenging times, Michigan companies are taking extraordinary steps to reward, recognize, retain and recruit their most precious asset – employees. Going above and beyond is what it takes for a company to be named an Elite Winner of Metro Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. The 10 honored companies were announced today by the Michigan Business & Professional Association (MBPA) at the annual awards luncheon honoring all of Metro Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for. The most prestigious award, “Best of the Best,” was presented to Volkswagen of America, Inc., which excelled in all categories. Steve Stephens, human resources manager, accepted the award.
“Elite Award recipients excel in a particular category, scoring significantly high in an area of human resource practices. Everything that is done through the company’s mission, vision, values, culture and leadership speaks to the high regard for making the organization an employer of choice,” said Jennifer Kluge, COO and Executive Vice President of the Michigan Business & Professional Association.
Volkswagen of America surpassed its competition by offering the resources to help its employees evolve -- personally, professionally and intellectually. “The Best of the Best Award is selected from the 10 Elite category winners,” said Kluge.
