With the battle of the hybrids getting more ferocious, we're seeing a lot of interesting vehicles come to the market. You may not love them; however, when getting the best MPG as possible is your primary goal there's only so many choices.

If you're not going to snap up a fully electric vehicle in form of the likes of the Tesla Model 3, Chevrolet Bolt or Nissan Leaf, then you're likely to choose between these two: The all-new Honda Insight and Toyota Prius.

Ever since the first-generation Insight though it's always been a compromised nameplate. Honda never did this car right, really.

Honda's hybrid sedan boasts the highest fuel economy in its class. The Insight offers a comfortable ride and responsive handling, but the noisy engine and frustrating gear selector may push buyers towards more refined competitors.
