To deal with vehicle shortages at dealerships, General Motors Co. will add overtime production to its SUV plant in Arlington, Texas, beginning next week. The plant rolls out standard and hybrid versions of the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon.
The Automotive News Data Center revealed that as of Jan. 1, all versions of those SUVs had less than a 34-day supply. It is recommended that there is a 60-day supply. The overall industry actually started 2010 with a 53-day supply.
