Growing up, I have to say that one of the first cars I became fascinated by was the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (R129). Perhaps its the proportions or simple elegance of the design, to me there's just something so teutonic and classy about it.

This car will never look bad. Sorry, folks, that's just how it is.

And being that Harry Metcalfe has an SL600 as a European runabout, he's sure to provide a review of a 140,000 mile car that no one else can do quite like him. God, I love this guy.

The review starts off in the south of France where he keeps it. Personally, you've got to hear this thing when he throttles it on the motorway. Sounds great!

The only possible thing better than the SL600 would be the rarely seen SL73 AMG — the utlimate.

Living with a 1993 Mercedes SL600 that's done 140,000 miles and now gets used to blast round Europe in. This car has to be one of today's greatest bargain V12s..
