Though we're covering the 2016 Detroit Auto Show front-to-back today and tomorrow, we're still not forgetting about the cool news streaming in from across the globe.

This just in: BMW's M3 and M4 are set to get a bit more M for you.

That's because the company is going to release a Competition Package. You may recall it debuted on previous-gen M3s. Although details are mum, BMW's President of M GmbH, Frank van Meel, made it clear that it will arrive come spring 2016.

As seen in previous-gen Competition Pack cars, there will be modifications to enhance its driving dynamics but van Meel made it clear that there will also be a bump in power.

We'll let you know when we hear MORE!

What else can we look forward to in 2016?

The BMW M4 GTS is our special model with a powerful focus on race track use. We have also been thinking about how we can further hone the character of our high-performance sports cars with unlimited everyday practicality, in other words the BMW M3 and BMW M4, and increase driving dynamics of these models even more. So we will be offering a Competition Package for each of the three body variants as of spring 2016. In addition to extensive measures to further enhance driving dynamics and agility, this package also comprises various exclusive equipment details as well as an increase in engine output. We shall be publishing details of this shortly.
