If you currently own a recent Porsche 911 (all models 1999-2004) and you've been depressed with the resale value of the car, you ain't seen nothing yet!

The cars have been hit hard on the wholesale market and will be taking and even larger hit now that people know the 997/987 are right around the corner.

And all you C4S owners that think you're safe...well, you're gonna take it in the shorts when Porsche announces the the 987 (911-S).

The new marketing technique for the 911 will mirror the Boxster formula. There will be a normal 911 AND a 911-S(30hp more than a regular 997)model.

Look for a $5-10K price delta between the two models and the sales mix to be 70/30 in favor of the 911(997).

Turbos and GT's stay the same for a year of two before the 997 versions replace them.

Over the next few years there will be at least 12 different variants of the 997.

Our suggestion is that if you're currently in the market for a 911 to be careful. Even at the rock bottom prices dealers are selling the current models for, we predict a significant depreciation hit coming soon...

What do you think about the potential hit on resale values?
