1800HP American supercar
Two of America’s most famous motorsports companies, Nelson Supercars and Mosler, have developed a new tuning package for the Mosler T900S. The Amercian supercar was already producing up to 600hp in some guises but thanks to the latest upgrade power levels now be adjusted all the way to 1,800hp using a button in the cockpit.
The mid-engined MT900S runs a Corvette Z06-derived LS6 V8 and weighs just 2,500lbs. To put this in perspective, the Nelson Racing Mosler MT900S produces 800hp more than the Bugatti Veyron and weighs 1,630lbs less.

I don't want to rain on their parade, but how exactly do they plan on transferring 1800hp to the road using a RWD car on street tires?
It's sad to see people who just don't understand that hp doesnt make a car. You need the WHOLE package. Somebody needs to tell the guys who do the SSC Aero and this monstrosity, to lay off the power and spend some time on refinement, quality, handling, usability, reliability.
They don't seem to understand that a true supercar is more than just a shopping cart with a 20,000hp strapped onto it... :-/

This car can't be a good idea. The true meaning of excess! Hopefully it will just sit in the garage of some wealthy individual or make the rounds at car shows, because out on the road in the hands of a normal person, this thing is a accident waiting to happen!

Good points, except that the article notes the car weighs only 2,500 lbs...which goes against the current grain of heavier and heavier cars. At this weight I'll bet its a great handling car too. What it won't be is very streetable, it will make an Elise probably seem like a luxury car.

Are you kidding? What kind of car guy argues with 1,800 horses? Of course it's not practical. It's fun! A car like this is about being outrageous and having bragging rights. Who else has 1,800 horses?

It says the 1800 hp is controllable by a button on the dash. Maybe it's designed to be used for top speed runs and has a more civil mode for low speed operation.

I agree with those who think this is laughable. What kind of torque is this engine producing? How can they build a structure that can manage and withstand that kind of twist. Not to mention all the laws of physics issues that make the last 1200hp probably useless..

I'm sure the 1800hp can be utilized, between 200mph where the car finally gets traction and 230mph where the engine blows up because it was designed for less than 1/4 of its current output.
