you also have to take into account that most of the buyers are older men who grew up when muscle cars were at the height of popularity. the only cars really represented in force there are muscles, racing Euros, and classics

Have been to this auction countless times, starting back in late 80's. Before Chrysler started sponsoring the BJA, the showcase cars were the Bugatti's, Bently's Rolls, Ferrari's etc... Now most of what you see is classic American metal. If you are looking for a nice clean German or European import you can usually get a good deal there (if you don't mind the buy/sell fees), I have seen many old Porsche's and the like go dirt cheap as there are few if any cars that go through now with a reserve.

They did have an old toyota land cruiser there , circa 1967 . It was outfitted with a LT1 chevy small block. Sold for around 57 K and was in excellent cond.

$350,000!!!!!!

Gotta love auctions of these types.... i get a kick out of seeing rich people blowing money away. Who am I to point fingers though... if I were in their position I'd probably do the same thing (just not with a Camaro). Find me a Gull-wing mercedes for $350,000 and that'd be a different story.

JMB 1013, you also have to take into account that many of the buyers have been on the earth awhile in order to be able to spend the kind of money that trades hands at Barret Jackson.. One more point buyers that grew up with muscle era cars are in thier 60's and beyond . That did not appear to be the median age of the attendees
