Actually it is getting better. While filling up yesterday at Chevron (in California) I noticed that everysingle station had a separate green hose diesel, ULSD diesel with only 15 ppm sulfur. Of course that was a relatively new station.

I don't like diesels because they make so much more noise than gasoline engines, but then again I am referring to the older diesels. Haven't been able to try the new ones from VW or MB because they aren't sold in CA. Gas stations equipped with diesels aren't hard to find in my area, infact I'd say 1/2 two has diesels. Actually only Arco doesn't have it.

You are right, modern diesels are not that loud at all. The new diesels should arrive by next model year, hopefully.

Did anyone notice that there are no vehicles from Ford, GM and DCX on the list. Considering that Ford and GM sell a lot of small cars in Europe and Asia why is it that these vehicles can't be part of their portfolios in the US market too?
