2007 Bologna Auto Show: Chinese Smart Clone Presented in a Parking Lot
Last week we reported that Daimler has stopped a Chinese minicar that resembles the Smart ForTwo from being shown this year Bologna auto show. Martin Motors, a European distributor Chinese Smart clone presented the minicar in a parking lot outside the Bologna auto show today.

Martin Motors was under court orders not to display the vehicle, which resembles the Smart ForTwo, at the show.

But Martin Motors said it wanted the press to form its own opinion whether the two models are lookalikes.

I'd like to see what would happen if the TopGear folks drove the Chinese Smart knockoff into a immovable 7 foot thick concrete wall like they did with the real Smart (driven by remote control of course).

This car looks like the Smart car, but in nearly every segment, cars look alike.

Oh, c'mon! Why would Martin Motors even bother? Is it not ridiculously obvious?

$15,000 for this little car??? And probably the quality of materials/ride sucks, as their other cars are just so plain boring .. Are they crazy?

It's a 4 seater? I can't see the roof mounted seat belts.

What kind of moron would pay $15K for this when you can get a real car for the same price. Aren't Chinese cars supposed to be distributed by Wal-Mart? Everyday fewer jobs, complete with lead wheels.

What kind of superpower can't even come up with an original idea? I'm surprise China didn't threaten to stop dumping goods into their country if they couldn't show this car.
