"chevy hopes to steal the market away from honda accord/toyota camry"

lmao, tell GM to produce a car where 75% of their sales aren't transactions thru rental car companies. the car will be a leader, in rentals that is.

I thought hybrids got less MPG on the Hwy vs. City?

Oh, so the Camry Hybrid is now $252,000? Your comma is in the wrong place. They're really seriously going at Bentley these days!

Agree that for the price this is excellent value. Imagine all you Euro fans, a decent family car for 20,000 US dollars. However I don't like the name, Malibu, because it invokes "Barbie" dolls and implies its not a car for real men! So I'd probably go with the Camry or Accord.

I'd still take an Accord, Altima, Camry or 6 in this class. Probably the Accord.

BAS "Hybrid" is a joke as far as Hybrid tech goes. GM is better off adding this tech to every vehicle that can take it and not even bothering with a Hybrid badge. The only advantage is that by calling it that, the government is fooled into giving you a tax break.
Even more interesting is the fact that the "more efficient" 6-speed automatic provides LESS fuel economy than the 4-speed "old-fashioned" automatic transmission.

The car should do well in the marketplace. Having spent some seat time in it and played with the interior it is a major pay grade above the past model. The interior on these things is nothing like what the competition is offering.

There will be a diesel model in the coming year or two that will do much better than the hybrid in efficiency.
