2008 Civic Sedan: Best Bang for Your Buck?
Honda has released a new trim level for the 2008 Civic Sedan. The Civic Sedan now comes with optional leather seats with and a base price of only $20,710 for the EX-L. At a price like that, especially with all of the features and the Honda name, I think this is the best bang for your buck if you're in the market for this type of sedan. Look at it's main comparisons: the Corolla and the Sentra. The Corolla is way overdue for a change and the Sentra's interior quality can't compete. What do you think?

Had a '06 Civic LX and it went thru 2 sets of front struts (lotsa online complaints about these) and it had a jerky automatic transmission, plus innumerable other annoyances. Traded it on an '06 Mazda6 GS leftover this spring (@ over $9K off) and haven't regretted it one bit. Hope Honda got these quality bugaboos resolved for '08.

Man I thought Hondas were strong as bears breath. Everything except for the trannies, struts and interior pieces. Oh well, atleast it's a Honda. Hyundai's gonna mop the floor with Honda and Toyota if they don't get their acts together.

My daughter didn't have any problems when I bought her an '03 Civic EX Coupe... but now my son has it and has f**ked up the thing with a huge, super-loud exhaust, an ugly grille, ugly wheels and a few other niceties...

So maybe it's just the new model.

What did you hit every pothole that you came across? I like how random people come up with these issues just to downplay brand images. Reality check Honda is always in the top 5 in reliability, so either that was a isolated issue or watch out for the potholes.

You even get a killer warranty.

Why? For the price of a normally-equipped Sonata, you could get a Civic Si, but while you're up there you might as well go for the vastly better Accord (which actually competes with the Sonata, unlike the Civic).

It really depends on what you consider bang for the buck. The EX-L trim level still only has 140hp. Not much of of a powerhouse. A Civic Si-L would probably be more attractive.

None of the cars in this class have significantly more power.

I've driven a 2007 Civic Si and I wasn't impressed. In town driving would suck because you've got to get some RPM to bring the V-Tec alive. I mean, who's turnin 5K on the tach. going to get groceries? I talked to a kid at the petrol station and he claimed he was gettin 18mpg. Gee, I wonder why.

our family has now 2 hondas. 97 crv and 07 accord lx. so far the leased accord is fine and nothing to worry about. just needs cleaning. crv is good but some bumps and bruises on the bumper from my moms odd driving.
