2008 Corvette to be revealed at the Dubai Motorshow 2007
More engine means more power, and that is what the Corvette nameplate is all about: sheer, unadulterated performance for those passionate about driving. The Chevrolet Corvette has to be the most exhilarating car to have come off the General Motors production lines in the company’s history and the 2008 model is all set to make a powerful entrance at the 9th Middle East International Motor Show.

The ‘Vette has never been a stranger to scintillating performance, but with the 2008 edition’s LS3 powerplant upgrade to 6.2-litres, it’s the most powerful yet, except for the super Corvette Z06. The Chevrolet range has traditionally offered advanced automotive technology at affordable prices, and the new Corvette showcases the lengths Chevrolet has gone to in order to maintain the model’s lead in innovation.

You need to get a clue. Lets start by just typing "dubai" in google search...

Actually, it wasnt that inapropriate. Although Dubai is a very rich place, that comes at a cost. There are pratically no human rights/labor laws, and all those gorgeous buildings are built by refugees from surrounding nations at as little as $7 USD per day. Their living conditions are horrible. Most great nations were built this way, including America.

10%? It's probably closer to 3%, but that's a guess. And people still ride camels in Dubai, they are a very efficient form of transportation - no joke.

I had no idea Dubai had an Auto Show. They are the fastest moving location to really 'get on the map'.

As for the new vette, I hope the interior is taken up a notch...

Sadly, thats almost true. I know, I work in a contruction company. But thats not an excuse for his racist comment.

Trust me there are more than 10% of the people here in the UAE that can afford the corvette, as we have so many luxury cars that cost more than that, but not many buy it, as its impractical for daily driving.

Yes, and the fact that one man has so much of that money (Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum) and his great vision of Dubai, has allowed him to create it. I hope he intends to give that 10 Billion USD to education in the Middle East as he previously vowed. Next is human rights. Local newspapers often carry stories of construction workers not being paid for months. Some of this has been dealt with, although there is still extreme wage disparity (like many places throughout the world).

More advanced engine technology needed: 4 valve / cylinder, DOHC, direct injection, variable valve timing...
Dashboard needed to improve.
Cheramic brakes?

The rest seem OK

Why? 430HP not enough for you? Does it matter how it is made?

^^^indeed it does. one reason i could never own a vette is that the interior is no different from a chevy cobalt. the outside is beautiful, and i love the designs but everytime i go to check out a corvette and finihs drooling over the outside and sit inside i am reminded of the short-comings.

as far as advanced engine tech...i am pleased with their production in the vette. their using old school technology and still 1-upping the opponents in power. and the mpg is pretty good as well. only fault is probably greenhouse, which in this type of vehicle is irrelevant.

The interior is cheap because you're paying under 50K for a car that handles and goes like stink. The money is in the motor and the chassis.

The 08 interior is a bit better.
