Would you shit yourself if you found out the LF-A was designed by a European?

Rosko, what an idiot you are my friend.
1. Italian Enzo is designed by a Japanese.
2. British and French designs are the uglies, that's why you don't see the French successful, and if the Brits were actually successful they wouldn't have sold their car companies to Ford.

So in simple words, the LF-A roadster IS much nicer and sexier than the R8. So learn to live with it. :-)

lool I think I pissed off a French guy here. Anyhow and thanks Ingenieur, the Enzo designer’s name is Ken Okuyama. I'm surprised why would you bother asking about his name and not look it up for yourself?

Anyhow and seriously, if you're saying that the Citroen and other French cars have charm, then I feel so sorry for you for not having any taste at all.

SHUT UP already! The LF-A is stunning! The R8 is stunning! ONE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BETTER THAN THE OTHER!!!! IT IS POSSIBLE TO LIKE THEM BOTH!

That is what I hate about this website! Over the last three days alone, I've really gotten to loathe the fanboys on here! SHUT THE FUCK UP for once!

Let me tell you something, I just came from my office which is in a huge complex with many other businesses and being a real estate agent I decided to drive over to a new business that sells marble, granite & travertine etc. and as I was driving I saw a 2 year old Aston Martin Vanquish and a brand spanking new Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano in red with the tan interior and pulled to the elegant granite store and I walked over to the 2 exotic machines and I talked with the owner of both cars.

The 599 GTB Fiorano is the worlds most sexy car and this Lexus is not!!!

Oh, EL34 so you're a real estate agent. I'm just curious as what does a real estate agent know about cars, seriously?

You're basically just a sales man and not a single sales man knows or cares about their product, their job is only to down play the competition and lie as much as possible about their own to make it sound better.

True car enthusiasts are mechanics, engineers i.e. people that get their hands and brain dirty with the product they love.

So, please stick with the real estate market and work hard to fix it up and leave car commenting to those that know and care.

It gets nicer-looking every time it appears at an auto show, but when is it going to be available to buyers? It has been hitting the auto show circuits every year since 2005. I expect great things for this car in the future, they have delayed this car so many times, you just know it has to be good.

I don't know about this one... no matter how I look at it, it just doesn't grab me. I was selling Lexus when the LF-A first came out, and I thought that the back end was just ugly...and I still think that back end is ugly even on this one. The front looks a little more well proportioned... but.... still rather take a 911 Turbo Cab, because if this ever comes out, it will be in that price range if not higher... Non-the less, a better looking front end and a real sports car interior; like what the IS-F needs badly (the inside of that car sucks, sorry)

i have to disagree with you...

the IS-F interior is by far the best interior out of all the LUXURY sports sedan vehicles available. as for the LF-A it has a great design as well.

i think we have to remember that this a an exotic caliber luxury sports coupe. keyword, luxury.

and like you said NorCal, if it's pure performance and sports, defintiely the Porsche...but remember it is looking like you will be giving up performance as well for it, even though the Lexus is/mite be offering more for the money.

the LF-A, amazing as it is...is still under construction, but is looking better and better as time goes by (plenty time at that). the miniscule changes for better aerodynamics have been well thought. the front loks betetr than the LF-A coupe...and the rear end is just pure business!

Lexus is on the rite track with this one...

I usually prefer Lexus' over other cars but I dont agree..porsche has a classic, timeless design and great performance to go with it. It would be hard for me to choose between both

The LF-A successfully does something that it desperately needs to...

Effectively elevate the Lexus 'L-Finesse' design language to the exotic.

This vehicle clearly aspires to take on some very established marques, and doing so with something that looks/feels/appears to be little more than a 'carbon copy' of them would be a recipe for failure.

As it currently stands, this Lexus is destined for greatness...

We'll See Soon Enough.

the LF-A coupe is a definite...the LF-A roadster is a maybe.

i do see it in the production line though...i mean it's a head turner, and if it can accomplish most of the coupes specs, it won;t be far long before it is a reality.

No, I have to disagree.... the LF-A is disgusting... The Convt is okay with the much needed front end update, but if it's going to carry a $120k+ price tag, I'm not sure it will accomplish anything in terms of sales.

Anyone can build a Jaw dropping concept. Audi is given us a beautiful production super car. So until Lexus shows us the real thing, not just version after version of concepts, i dont think you can compare the two.

Ok i have read almost the entire post, and there has been some aggressive and sometimes very funny arguments from both sides, ones loving the car and others hating it. But what mostly intrigued me were the comparisons of the LFA with some certain competition. The first is the Audi R8. In my opinion, in terms of design, the Lexus LFA is very sleek, very low to the ground, has very attractive headlamps, and overall has a supercar like proportion and looks to the overall shape. The only problem i might have is with the triexhaust pipes at the back, which look totally out of place with the otherwise magnificent design. Now onto the R8, the car looks much more aggressive, powerful, and overall the car is very muscular and strong looking, exactly opposite in design theme to the grace and sleekness of the pure design theme of the LFA. But in terms of advanced designing, both cars have probably the most highly machined and advanced design components, both cars have headlamps draped on LEDs, the surfacing is pure and absolutely symmetrical despite some complex surfacings, and off course the interior of both cars are machined to unbelievable standard, both using high tech gizmos and machined materials to give the car a machinelike look. In my opinion both cars are worthy to wear the title supercar. And now onto 911 turbo, well i think there really isn't any comparison, both are very different cars made for very different purposes, the 997 is made for pure driving dynamics with almost no excess driver aids than needed. The LFA will probably be packed with more driving assisting aids making driving easier, but LFA is much more stylish and like the R8 it is aimed more at stylists who want supercar like performance, whereas 911 is made purely for driving, and for me, a true enthusiast, nothing can take the joy of driving away from a 997 or a Nissan GTR, cars made purely for enthusiasts only. 997 or a GTR will serve my purpose, but for people who want something very good looking while not giving up on performance and driving fun, they should look no further than the Lexus LFA roadster, or the Audi R8.

I can't even focus on the article any more. The fanboys are too ridiculous. It's either incessant hating of the car at hand (LF-A) or constant comparisons to other cars (R8, 911 Turbo, F430) and saying how much "better" it is.

What is the matter with you people? Why did all the dimwits end up on this site? Don't you see what it's like on the "outside?" Is there a voice of reason on AutoSpies?
