The model will join the hot-looking ‘kinetic’ Europe Focus lineup that already includes a three-door, four-door, five-door, wagon and the sporty ST model. Can we stop posting about the Euro Focus, everytime I see it I get pissed being in America. Or at least put Euro in the titles so I can avoid even lookin at these articles. FoMoCo is crap in the US and needs some major overhauling to stop bringing us their crap from the recycle bin out back.

I totally agree with the above comments. But I also never understood the logic in putting a diesel in compact cars. What's the advantage?

I don't know... maybe the fact that they get 50+ MPG?

Low emissions, great mpg (the 1.6 TDCI gets 52 US mpg combined and only 118 g/km CO2. Prius gets same MPG (when using European cycle) and 104 g/km CO2, but costs a lot more money.

We have the Euro Focus in the US, its just called a Mazda 3. But even that is starting to get a little dated.

i think that car marketed with ford sync technology would be good looking, affordable and have decent technology.

FOMOCO needs to sell a car with its name on it, not Mazda or Volvo's

Comparison, Mazda 3 and Volvo S40 are based of Euro Focus. The Mazda 5 is based off the Ford SMAX.

If Ford spent the cash to develop and have this car either shipped to us here in the US or setup their plants here to build it, then I could guarantee one thing. It would be more than a shot across the bow to Toyota and Honda. It would be a submarine torpedo with dead aim. The Focus would kill the market and would bring a mass of those Corolla Civic owners across the lines to have a look at something so sleek. Bring over the redesigned hatch in ST form with the turbo I5 that could crush a Civic Si and you have something to brag about.

Profits My Friends. Profits

The lower end price for a Focus in the UK is Approx 15k Sterling which is approx $28,000 USD.

How many of you guys would be lining up to Purchase a Focus Hatch(Non ST Version)for $28k and above ?

Audi and a few other Euro Manufacturers make very litle profits or some times almost a loss on some vehicle sales in the USA because of the Dollar Value and the fact that you guys are used to Low Prices,

Perfect case in point was when Audi decided to Focus on UK/Euro/World Sales of the Q7 when it got a Lukewarm Reception in the USA as Audi makes almost no Profit on the USA Models of the Q7 so why waste time on expensive Marketing when Demand from the rest of the world is above supply.

So your saying that the average Mexican who makes way less than your average American can afford a Euro Focus since that's what they get.

Let's also put things in perspective a little more. A base model would grab around 14-15k. Pretty much right where the Mazda 3 sits now. Civic and Corolla also start around this price point. So for a upper echelon model you would pay posssibly at 20 or just slightly above as you would for a Mazda 3 GT with all the options.

Now the ST with the I-5 turbo would compete against a car like the STI or Evo so for the cash it would be relivent it would cost close to 30k.

If you look at the trends small cars that are more premium is what is desired by many Americans, so paying a little more which we already do is expected. Most of the small cars today cost you 15-20k range.

If you want a small car for 11-12k then you should look at the Nissan Versa, Honda Fit, Suzuki SX4, etc. Those will run between 12-15k for models. Which means you would them also import the new Fiesta over there and sell it at that price point.

Trouble is, a Euro Focus costs in Europe from about 20000 dollars, for a 1.4 model (0-60 13.5 seconds) to the 2.5 ST, which is something like 35000 dollars. You're not willing to pay that as you expect lower prices, so Ford have to make a worse model that is cheaper to sell it for a lower price.
