I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

it should be around 10 or less, that car has in production almost 10 years now. Ford insist on ripping its us customers off. they have more than paid for the tooling for that car already. its like the crown vic, and town cars, those cars are/were riding over 20 year old platforms, thats pure profit

I wish Ford USA would just DIE, so then we could get Ford Europe's products.

DIE, I TELL YOU!

What is with the puny f'ing engine options. Where's the high compression 2.0 Zetec or the 2.3 Duratec option. I'm tired of "European Inspired"...how about "European Spec"? I mean GD!!! Are we Americans so ordinary and predictable, that this is what it has come to? That we'll buy any piece of crap, so long as the exterior looks remotely interesting? Ford's whole line-up in the U.S. is total crap, even the mustang GT is included in that, as it still doesn't come with IRS.

These keep popping up all over the place (testing I assume) here in Vegas, and though they do look rather nice (in a baby Mondeo kind of way), knowing that the underpinnings are a decade old just kills it for me.

Great Pricing though...

This is pathetic. If this is the epitome of FoMoCo's finest 2008 model line, all I can do is shake my head. It's hideous from all angles. The interior looks like it will break in half if you tug at it. The engines are wheezy and outclassed. There's no hi-po version to get any of us interested.

There is absolutely no reason to buy this vehicle over a Civic, Mazda3, Jetta/Rabbit, Corolla, or Sentra. It doesn't even give you the best value!

Sadly, the only competing cars I would ever considering buying it over are its American counterparts, the Cobalt and Caliber(?).

Well said! In Canada this car loaded will be around $25,000.! That is just the way it is in Canada. My 2007 Civic with a 1.8L engine produces the same HP as this Ford but the Civic gets better mielage! Why can't ford match or beat the competition in power/economy? Still way behind, although compared to the 20 year old car from 2007, what an improvement. I met a guy that bought a ford focus wagon and shortly after buying it for good fuel mielage it began to consume gas like a truck and when he brought it back to ford they couldnt find a problem! WT?#@# Is this quality?

truckmen....you know what sucks about that, is your currency is almost equal to that of the U.S., yet just across the border is the same car for thousands less.
