2008 Honda Accord On the Way
While Honda is working on its new Accord other cars in its class like the Toyota Camry are booming in sales. Toyota’s new Camry has been accepted by sports sedan lovers and the hybrid version is being applauded by enviromentally concious drives. That being said and competition from the new Nissan Altima (with a coupe version on the way) the new Honda Accord has a lot to live up to. So far there have been some photo renderings of the 2008 Honda Accord but the official production design is due in 2007. The car will have a larger wheel base with some design elements of the new Civic. Other then that the car is expected to be close to these photo renderings you see here. There will also be a new coupe launched as well.

There are also rumors of a new Honda Accord hybrid due out by 2009. Check out some images of the concept for now.

Do u really think this is 24 inch wheels? I can't imagine that they will fit in such car size.

This has got to be the best Accord ever designed. Call me cynical, but I just have this feeling that Honda is going to water this thing down. I hope I'm wrong.

Honda didn't water down the MDX too much from the concept...so I think you'll be smiling soon, hah. The exhaust pipes, the interior and maybe the tail-lights may change and become more conventional, but seeing the new MDX vs. its concept...I'm thinking a lot will carry over.

As for those 24 inch wheels...I think they're just concept flash items.

Well, they knew they'd make a better profit, you know, with their outstanding history, and not to mention cheaper price than an Audi.

You know, I don't like it for one reason: it looks too stout. The size is deceiving and the ratios make it looks like it is more Civic sized. Though it could be the wheels (24" ?!) The lines are nice, I just think they should elongate them a bit more.

Unfortunately, i doubt the new accord will look anything like in the artist rendering. I predict it to be more bland and more conservative in design to suit all the dull heads in this country.

If Honda build it like that, then it's a superb evolution of the current Euro Accord.

That looks more like a TSX instead of an accord. However for a TSX that looks hot and definately good to go. It would be nice if the Accord could be restyled to something like that. It makes more sense as a new TSX but not an Accord. The resemblance would be too close that consumers will have a hard time choosing whether to get the "Acura" badged car or the cheaper "Honda". If the performance is still relatively the same then the Honda would have the edge in sales simply because of the price. Why pay more for the same thing but with the badge of the luxury division.

For those of you who don't know, the TSX is, technically, the European Honda Accord. So, these concepts we're seeing are likely going to end up being the European Honda Accord, and, consequently, the North American Acura TSX. Based on the design of the headlights which are similar to the new Acura MDX, this solidifies it even more that this will be an Acura in the States. I love it.

You've hit the nail on the head. I sell for Acura, and that is definitely an artis's rendition of what the new TSX will look like. As you have stated, the TSX is almost identical to the Euro Accord, same length, wheelbase, etc. It will have sh-awd, and possibly the RDX turbo motor.

Surprise surprise, mimics the Civic. BMW should take note at how real independence runs.

It takes guts to build your image from the ground up rather than from the top down.

This will not be the US Honda Accord. This most closely resembles the Euro Accord and TSX, as an Accord like this will not be good for Acura.

Look the Civic is unusual and stunning for a small car but it hasn't killed off the Corolla, in fact Corolla is seeing big increases in sales. So why should a futuristic Accord damage the Camry?

this is going to be the next TSX. The pictures are of the sports 4 concept which is about 15 feet long or 180in. The sports 4 is a hint at the next Acura TSX/JDM accord not the U.S. accord. i have been waiting for this car all year...i cant wait to get one!!

Knowing Honda, the car will look slightly different. The rims, the windows, the door handles, etc. will look very different from this, but nonetheless, this car will be very attractive when it comes out. I really like it. And with the Camry and Altima now having smartkeys, this will probably too. And it hopefully will have ventilated seats.

Fascinating design, sort of Pontiac G6 meets Honda Civic. Will it be too avant-guarde for the middle market?

G6 is a very nice looking car, unlike German boxes or loaf of bread designs..G6 actually look nice. That would be a compliment towards this Accord if it does actually look like this...probably not. Way too early in infancy but..If its Honda..Its a very good product, that's just given.

Strap Up Kids! HONDA is going take you on that ride.....Theirs no way HONDA will ever let Nissan and Toyota knock their ongoing legacy, Its Not Happening. Unlike Nissan and Toyota, HONDA Will Release The 4dr Sedan And The Coupe At The Same Time. I Love how Honda did minor touchups to the accord to let these other "clown" designers put their hearts into their new production. It’s a cycle...THINK ABOUT IT!

Old news, plus not even the 08 US Accord. As others have mentioned that is the replacement for the Acura TSX, as well as the European Honda Accord.

If the turbo 4 (RDX motor) and SH-AWD appear as planned and they keep the weight in check, this thing should be a blast to drive.

I think it will be watered down. Huge wheel arches will be gone and I expect a bit higher ride, smaller wheels like 17 to 18's.
But the front end say Acura and the side says Madza 6 to me.

Give me a flippin break. The Accord is Honda's mainstream , bread and butter family car. This IS NOT the 2008 Accord.

The real 2008 Accord will be much more pedestrian in styling
