438HP and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds? Why isn't the car faster?

0.5 SECONDS FASTER than BMW v12 and Audi w12 in 50-70mph. Also the car is heavier.

For being 5,200lbs, 5.5sec 0-60 is pretty fast.

This car cost 4 times less than a Toyota Century R.
But it paves the way for Lexus vision... It combines highest technology and luxury with ECO-VAS system. Something unheard for a car in its class...

Nice, but I found something important are missing: Advanced Precollision System and Driver Monitor System.

What is wrong with Lexus? Those advanced safety systems have been on Europe, Japan LS460 for years.

I doubt that. We're the biggest market they sell to and they sell a lot to us.

What more could you possibly add to the vehicle outside of the "giddy" self-park feature?

agent63, I may not drive a Lexus LS460 is because not that I don't have the money. It that I would rather save that money so that I can buy a house or mansion in Newport Beach coast with next year or so. Yeah!..sure I know how much the house up there cost, the one that I was looking into cost $5+ millions.

Yeah! sure you drive all this fancy cars but do you own and live in a 20,000ft mansion? I doubted. I have my own business so if everything workout, I will contact EL34 to show me a tour of the Newport Coast hopefully within a year or two.

Agent63, is your typical of rich Snob....here who like to go online and brag about what he drive to try to compensate for having a small penis or ego.

Ride comfort I highly doubt is any different than the one in my model.

No I don't own a 20,000 sq feet mansion but I own a 12,000sq feet home. I'm not a typical rich snob. I wouldn't say I'm rich but just well off and fortunate. I live modestly and say what I own because this is a car website and I can have input because I have experienced it. I don't brag about a 20,000sq feet mansion I don't own =) I don't brag about an area that I don't live in.

You're the typical household troll that likes to go online and read your road and track, edmunds reviews, and buy posters of your favorite cars and you lay there staring at them. How immature of you to even bring up 'small penis or ego'.

Don't bring up personal things on this website. Keep your discussion on cars not me. I thank you for all your attention but none is needed.

But since we're all grown ups here. Newport Beach area is phenomenal. The Laguna area is beautiful as well especially in the summer. I highly recommend it to you if you can afford it. Plus it's not too far from the big city too. It's a nice little get away from the rukus filled LA area.

lexus you and agent63 still battling? lol.

agent has the s550 and has an non hybrid ls lexus i would think he has more than the average joe has.

perhaps it is you who is jealous of many here. really you making us lexus fans look bad. if you even bothered to read the ending of his comment he was being mature about things but you have to have the final say? lol.

word has it you own a old old lexus es or toyota camry.. perhaps it is you who should be feeling pain and saying what you say to compensate for what you want in life but dont have.

im not hating on u but quit starting trouble dude. his views aren't always the greatest but most of them are more informative than yours. he bases his info on what he has and sees but you base it on what people write on this site? dont be a bandwagon-er.

lex lunatic,

Just leave it. There is no need to fuel our little debate. There is nothing left to say. It is no big deal to me. What car I own or what type of house I live in has nothing to do with my knowledge overall. It's all just luxury not necessity. What you have does not matter. It all boils down to respect. Some people just don't know how to or what respect really is and that's fine.

Lexus ALWAYS understates their 0 - 60 times by at least .5 seconds. Here are the results of the 5 Top Luxury Cars in this test which was reported in the January Issue of Car and Driver. Please note these tests were all done on the same day at about the same time and at the same altitude. The results reflect the average of 3 runs and all cars are the 2007 vintage.

Mercedes S550 5.6, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.1 (Benz show 5.4 in their specs)
BMW 750iL 5.7, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.2
Jag XJ Super 6.0 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.5
Lexus LS460L 6.2 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.6
Audi A8 6.8 0 - 60 quarter mile 15.2

Note that Lexus, as usual, is more than the 5.4 the manufacturer CLAIMS to get by .8 seconds.

Also note the LS430 (prior model the LS460 replaced) was rated at 295 HP and was actually 278 when Lexus corrected their rating. And there were no refunds or apologies from the so-called "quality" car company. ABC - Always Be Careful what you buy from the (REPREHENSIBLE) Toyota/Lexus people.....
