2008 Saturn Vue Uncovered
The Saturn variant will be assembled in Mexico and will go on sale in early summer 2007.

Saturn also said it will market Green Line hybrid and Red Line performance editions of the new Vue during the 2008 model year.

The base 2008 Vue will feature a 164-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Uplevel engine choices include a 215-hp 3.5-liter V6 and, on the Red Line version, a 250-hp DOHC 3.6-liter V6. Six-cylinder models will get a six-speed automatic and will be available with optional all-wheel drive.

Standard safety features include front side airbags and air curtains.

What this means to you: The next Saturn Vue looks a darn sight more attractive than the boxy original.

Saturn is definitely on a roll, looking at the fact they dominate the LA show with the VUE Outlook and AURA hybrid, this means for the next 2 years Saturn should do very well.

The VUE is arguably the best looking CUV in this segment (I would count the LR2 but the price difference seperates it)

A letdown after the Preview cocnept. Interior and exterior are worse than I expected. But better than before.

It looks like an obese Grand Vitara. Uch!

It's sad to know that the CR-V and RAV4 are still miles ahead...

I actually like it. Not too feminine. Not exactly masculine either, though. But nice and pleasant styling. I like better than the RAV4

Is this engine the same one used in the Honda Accord? Please respond only if you have a definite answer. Thanks!

The Honda J35 displaced 3.5 L (3471 cc) and is an SOHC VTEC design. The J35 is also used by General Motors in the Saturn VUE, though GM refers to it as the L66.

The new J35 used in the Acura RL produces 290 hp (224 kW) at 6200 rpm and 256 ft·lbf (347 N·m) at 5000 rpm. This engine was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2005.

The J35A91 used in the Honda Ridgeline produces 247 hp (184 kW) at 5750 rpm and 245 ft·lbf (332 N·m) at 4500 rpm.

What a joke ? why are only GM and Ford still offers a 4 speed auto trans ? 215 HP out of a 3.5 V6 u kidding me right ? This Saturn is 10 year behind CRV and RAV 4

They have another V6 with 260hp! It might even be the same engine. And they de-tuned it... why?

Check the Aura. There are two different V6 versions, both in the vicinity of 260hp.
