2008 Subaru Impreza S-GT
We don’t know if this will make European and American Scooby fans feel a little bit better or not, but from the looks of it, the JDM (Japan Domestic Market) version of the 2008 Impreza WRX will loose the "WRX" nameplate in favour of the uninspiring and meaningless "S-GT". As you can see from the images, apart from the 7.500 rpm redline (US WRX: 6.500 rpm) and the 180km/h speedometer, there’s no other visible difference between the US spec WRX and the JDM S-GT. S-GT may refer to Super GT, Japan's Domestic GT racing series.

I dont recall any scoobies competing... NSX's and SC430's dominate the GT500 class at the moment. There maybe some Imprezas in the GT350 class.

Impreza GT has been used in most countries during the first bodystyle GC8/GC6. More consistent naming for Subaru would be nice like Legacy GT, Impreza GT, and create XT to GT for Outback and Forester. In a way, the STi should be the real WRX since the World Rally car has 300hp as well.

My god that's one horrid looking car. It looks terrible cheap inside and out.

Really what a shame, I always loved the Impreza..

It seems like the EVO X has gone up bigtime designwise while Subaru is going a bit down here.....

It is cheap... That is the whole point of the car: Best bang for bucks... But that is the only thing you get! All the money goes into the performance, which means that there isn't any left over for high quality... But I agree... It looks horrible, inside and out!

Of course but they could at least make it look right. I mean compare this to the new EVO..

To be honest, I don't think they give a damn... I have to agree that I don't understand this design either. I like the EVO X far better also. I have always prefered the Impreza to the EVO, right up until the point where Subaru brought out this monstrosity. But again, I don't really think the buyers of these cars will care. I would, but then again, I would never buy one of these anyway... I once spent a week with an Evo in Sweden while taking a rally course and afterwards, I spent three weeks with the chiropractor untangling my spine! :D

Way to rip off the the lines of the new 3 series, tail lights of the mitsu outlander, and a hatch way to reminiscent of the mazda3...and give a fugly face.

yuck

quick car though
