I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

2008's Best New Road Trip Vehicles by KBB.com
Kelly Blue Book’s kbb.com has announced its picks for the 2008 Top 10 Best New Road Trip Vehicles. In picking the vehicles kbb.com took into account driving enjoyment, passenger comfort, cargo space and of course fuel-economy.
Right, because the Bugatti Veyron and Audi S5 have ‘amazing’ fuel-economy that should save you a lot of cash with gas prices reaching $4 per gallon. Honestly, if we had a Bugatti Veyron, we wouldn’t be taking a road trip in it; we’d be hitting up a track and going crazy.
Our advice, if you own a Veyron or an S5, park that thing in the garage for the summer. Anyway, click through for the press release and the whole list. At least kbb.com picked some logical vehicles like the Toyota Prius, Chevrolet Malibu and the Dodge Grand Caravan....

While the Veyron is a good car, I really don't think it deserves to be on this list. In fact, it's probably one of the worst cars for a road trip. It's got bad fuel consumption (a bit of a problem if you're driving through northern Nevada where you can go several hours without a gas station), a small cabin, and not a lot of places for a suitcase.

MINI a road trip vehicle? yeah, right.... must be that around the block trip to the hairdresser :)
MINI has the worst ergonomics of any car, you won't have any ass left at the end of any long trip in this car.

The S5 seems deserving of that spot but in my book, there is only one car that I take on road trips. My '92 500E still has yet to be beat.

Is that 92 500E is that the model with the vents on the front fender, with slightly wider fenders than normal E's? Those are sweet!

The 300D is actually the car you're thinking of with the vent on the right front fender. It's the cold air intake for the turbo. But the 300D does not have wider fenders. The 500E gets the flared fenders without the vent.
