2009 Acura TSX (Accord Euro) spotted
Last month Honda released official teaser images for its next-generation Accord Euro, and now we have images of an actual sedan prototype undergoing testing in California. In the U.S. the car will be sold as the 2009 Acura TSX and will be available in a sedan bodystyle only, while other markets will get a Touring wagon variant as well.

As the images reveal, the final production model shares many similarities with the current car, including an almost identical glasshouse and profile. Look closer, however, and the new car’s rounder appearance, larger grille and intake, and taller boot become evident.

Seriously Now - REVOLUTIONARY?

I Think Not, As This 'Alleged Redesign' Is Barely EVOLUTIONARY!

This is nothing more that the old car recycled. Acura = boring, loser, dullard cars.

What On Earth Is Honda/Acura Thinking?

This Side Profile Is (Almost) An Exact Duplicate of The Fusion/Milan/MKZ Triplets From FoMoCo...

Shameless!

Considering the TSX came out before those cars, you mean they look like the TSX. The wheels do happen to look very close to a set I saw on a Fusion recently, however.

Side profile IMO looks a lot like a Ford Fusion. Also from that one angle, looks like some kind of Lexus from front 3/4s view. Maybe it is the light but the rear from that angle looks like a GS. Looks lke more of the same old from Acura. So much for that cool concept a while back, looks like it didn't make it into production.

I can't say how disappointed I am with the way this new TSX looks. I always thought the current TSX was borderline chubby, but in a loveable way, but this redesign does not look like a luxury car nor does it look like a sports sedan. I hope the body is a tease and the suspension and the rest of the mechanicals are really what are being tested. We all know Honda/Acura keep their cars under wraps until the official debut. If this is the real body for the new TSX, I hope the new TL looks nothing like it!

Seriously, it's camoe'd. How can you make a determination without actually seeing the car sans the tape. Being a Honda/Acura fan, I'm a little nervous, but I'll at least wait to see what it actually looks like. Until then, I'll pray it's not a new RL clone.

I have to come here to get some laughs sometimes. Ford Fusion, Subaru Legacy. It looks like any other well styled small sedan. What's really wrong with it. By the way, it also looks very much like a 328. So what does that mean? It means everyone copies each other and follows current trends. Of course it looks like other cars.

To me the biggest disappointment was hearing it was beign released in a FF config only. I know it's hard to imagine Honda going to a FR drivetrain, but at least give all the Acura's AWD. This is just a Euro Accord with an Acura badge on it. Probably won't even have keyless start.

This is sad. I thought that Honda would take the next step and make the TSX a great looking car. Was expecting something more of the sports 4 concept.

I agree. Wouldn't it be nice if someone would release one of their concepts with little changes! Alas, it will probably never happen. it's not just Acura that wimps out in the end. They all do it.

Unfortunately this rounded styling makes it look more bloated. The original design theme for Acura had character. This redo looks mainstream generic. If Acura sales have been lackluster this did nothing for it.The styling is simply too conservative.

I really, REALLY try to stay away from "it looks like......," but this is just too close to the Fusion. And the Fusion is a good lookin sedan, dont get me wrong. But the OG TSX is a good lookin sedan too, so they shoulda been real careful about messin with it. I am concerned about Acura.

Side profile resembles 2004 Lexus IS300. Feel Acura is trying to play it too safe with designs and models, ie NSX.

Just from these limited pictures, I do have to say it looks pretty disappointing. I'll wait till I see it for real to make a final judgement, because I have to admit, I actually like the new Accord (for what it is) after having seen it on the road.

I was a big fan of the current TSX. There's something just right about its styling, size, price, value, etc., and I was impressed when I drove one. I have no problem with its front drive. In a way, it had understated good looks like an 80's 3 Series (second generation). This one, however, looks like a rounded version of the current one, and looks like a lot of other cars. The current TL is probably the best looking Acura, and I'm guessing the new one won't look as good. The MDX is the only model which has been improved upon, and that's no beauty queen.

I am soooooo disappointed, I really wanted to like this car. I was excited about the prospects of a AWD diesel luxury car, value priced. This already looks dated.

Even tho this is an Acura in the US, it's just a plain old Honda everywhere else so i'm not surprised how simple it looks.

Honda used to be one of my favorite companies when cars like the NSX and S2000 were new. Now its just a joke and the fact that it sux so much in F1 is just the icing on the cake.

You guys are really haters this car looks no different than an IS or G even the rear bumper resembles a G but because it's Acura its boring, interior will be better than IS and G I gurantee that and exterior when all the tape is off than you can judge.

So far it's not bad. When it's completely uncovered and caught by a quality camera I'm sure it'll be a nice evolution of the current gen.

So far I like it better than the nothingness that is the is, and the g35, which isn't that bad.

Ford Fusion = 1997 Prelude nose and 1996 Prelude tail but with 4 doors instead of two.
