2009 Acura TSX pricing announced
Finally, for all the fans who were waiting for! Acura announced pricing for the all-new 2009 TSX sports sedan that will hit the showrooms on April 24th. MSRP pricing for the TSX is $28,960 and the TSX with Technology Packages is $32,060. Although the new TSX surpasses the previous generation in virtually every way, pricing for the 2009 model represents a modest 4.3 percent sales weighted average price increase. Destination and Handling is not included in MSRP, and for the 2009 TSX remains unchanged at $715.

I can't say that Hondas are ugly but I am annoyed at their SOHC (instead of DOHC) V6 engines. Honda wheel designers should pay more attention to curb damage afflicting rims whose spokes stick out and whose tires are those harsh-riding low-profile ones that don't protect the rim against damage.

EnnNorak, Do you have anything new to say? It's always the same bit. DOHC over SOHC. wah wah. SOHC seems to be doing fine in their cars, what's the point if they get the performance the same? Wah wah curb rash only afflicts honda. Wah wah.

EnnNorak- the J24 is a DOHC. However, I agree with SoSnootySo. Not sure how worthy that is of attention. I'm more disappointed in Acura by the fact that they are still using 5at in all their products. Getting WAY behind the curve in that category.
In the case of this new TSX. FF 4cyl 5at? Doesn't sound like "luxury" to me. Not even entry level lux. They keep talking about moving upstream and then release this! Their actions don't match up with their rhetoric.

Certainly TSX is overpriced. Pay premium for smaller Accord with Acura badge. This is a bad news for the future TL buyers; it will be priced at mid-high 30k.

"Honda and Acuras are the same freakin cars"
That's a bit of a simplification don't you think. What cars are the same? Yes, the Euro Accord and Acura TSX are basically the same car. The Honda Legend and Acura RL are the same car. The others are not. True, they're all made by the same manufacturer and share parts. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
CERTAINLY you're not suggesting the Civic and the TSX are the same car. The TSX is $10k more but provides $10k more luxury and performance features.
Contrary to what many of us think on these car forums, the majority of the world doesn't put HP at the top of the list when buying a car. It's just part of the equation. We need to accept that and not get so pissed off when every new model doesn't come with a bigger engine and radio.
Flame away!

The CIVIC is an ecomomy car with massive production numbers. Due to economies of scale, the CIVIC will clearly be a better "pound-for-pound" value.
I don't own a Civic or a TSX, so I went to the TrueDelta.com website and did a feature comparison on the 08 models. As I suspected, it was more then heated seats and HID headlights. Although the Si has a limited slip diff that the TSX does not have (very nice).

rsands1 do you even know what your talking about.
First of all, the Civic does not have the same engine as the TSX, one is 2.0 the other is 2.4. Second, considering you have an SI and not the regular civic, the SI starts at 21,000$ not 19,000, add the navigation system and we're at 23,000$. Let's add 17' mags and we're over 24,000$ for a freakin Civic.

Man everything is getting more and more expensive by the day. $28k for a 4 cylinder car? God damn it!! And I bet you it uses premium fuel too, so anyone who buys it is screwed.

Let me be the first to say, this is a nice car! It is very good looking, especially because it is so well proportioned. It give me great hope for the 2009 TL. This new TSX's lines are edgy and crisp, however I must agree that grill looks as though it belongs to an appliance somewhere in my kitchen, I just can't put my finger on it. Nevertheless the frontal facade displays the proper amount of angst.
As for the price it's not bad at all, probably even a bargain considering other brands offering (this is where I get blasted) but hold on. Consider the new BMW 1 series, comparably equipped, the BMW does cost thousands more for a car that is much much smaller, albeit with a more powerful engine.
As we all know it's has a lot to do with the nameplate. With BMW buyers are certain they will get performance, with Acura well therein lies the problem, after all this time it has no real identity or defining characteristics.

The front of it looks like a cheezy honda civic.
I'll pay more for a 2009 Nissan Maxima with the techonology package that includes what this car does not have is: 9.3GB Music Box Hard drive, all four bucket seats with turso, thigh, and shoulder support, sky roof for back passengers, Advance Bose premium audio system with 2 subwoofers, 19-inch wheels, yeap I said 19-inch wheels, 290 horse power, 7.0 inch touch screen, yeap big size 7.0 inches, paddle shifters, electroluminescent meters.

I would much rather have a Honda Civic Si, Audi A3, VW R32, Volvo V50, BMW 128i or SAAB 9-3 for this price (or less).

To me acura is kind of an over priced joke. I feel like I'm looking at a honda when I look at these new models that acura just released. I swear they are made of the same quality and design outside. They are so friggin ugly and cheap looking. I don't understand why you would ever pay over $40,000 for one! It's a rip off. I really really liked the last generation of models before this. Those I would be willing to pay for, but this TSX and the new RL are just horrible! I understand that its possible to be a luxury brand and still share parts with a brand lower than you, I mean that's basically what Lexus does. But at least lexus makes good cars and can actually be considered luxury and not a weak attempt at luxury.
