the interior is a little to boxy but has a nice look to it of everyone is incorporating on BMW's idea where there is a screen in the car which will show everything....I need to see this car in person to make a better judgement because from what I see I still dont like the exterior

I think the rear end looks like the current Hyundai Sonata. Really guys take a close look and even teh oval shape of the exhaus tips and how the bumper is molded around them, the tailligts are completely ordinalry in this day adn age where premium car manufacturers are striving to include every element of the cars into a signature design cue and brand destinction. Keep in mind this is a Benz and that is a car company despite recent struggles with design reliability and whatever else still is considered on of the top three premium volume cars in the world. And then they pull this off.... It may be an engineering marvel, but you want something that makes a good first impression and this just does not do it for me.

ChuckG37 is right. The E-Class rear lights are a styling evolution of the current W245 B-Class. Furthermore, just because we have rear lights that look like _____ doesn't mean they were copied. Imagine if there was an internet forum around in the 1930s, we'd be accusing all carmakers of COPYNG since EVERY single carmaker back then used circular front headlights and a thin strip for the rear lights. These "copied from ______" statements are first and foremost childish and secondly ultra retarded.

Furthermore, member "GermanNut" thinks the A6 will outsell the E-Class based on style? Funny. Styling is always a subjective matter. The E-Class is a very appealing car because of what it offers. Maybe GermanNut should read some more reviews between the A6 and E-Class because the E-Class will generally be the car that does everything well while having no major weaknesses. It handles well and is very comfortable for instance. The A6 on the other hand might be sportier, but its comfort was never even on the same level as that of the E-Class. Most people buying these cars are not the 20 year old car enthusiasts we have on this site but are older and wiser and have different priorities. Priorities which the E-Class fulfills and hence this car will be first of all very appealing to such people - and more. I can even see former A6 owners being interested in it. Oh yes, I can.

I said the E-Class is an appealing car no matter what biased morons like GermanNut keep spewing out on this site. You don't like the E-Class? That's fine. There are many people that do. And correct me if I am wrong but don't the vast majority of global A6 sales comes from China? A country where the A6 outsells the 5er and E-Class easily.

Stop it. Please stop it. I am so sick of these "E-Class looks like a Lexus G" comments. This car is basically a redesigned W211 E-Class that has become a little boxier and has taken on styling elements from the C-class and S-Class. I don't believe this for one instant that Mercedes designers looked to the Lexus GS for inspiration. That's BS. Most people here think that car design is so simple. That a bunch of design teams are told to design the new model and that's it. In reality is more than that. Car manufacturers do research. They question their target market what they would like about a current design and what they perhaps wish to see in the future. Car design is also about reacting to what the consumer wants. How do I know this? I have two friends who are currently doing design internships at Audi and Opel respectively. Plus I've been reading up on this issue for ages. So please, stop these bullshit "E-Class copied Lexus GS/ E-Class looks like Lexus GS" comments.

Nobody disagrees with what you said. I'm sure Mercedes of all companies did their "research." It is apparent that in their research they learned that their consumers wanted a squared-off quad headlight look. It is just unfortunate for Mercedes that Lexus consumers already got the same thing back in 2006.

Oh please, it's pretty outrageous to still claim that Mercedes copied the Lexus GS headlights. Given the boxier styling of the new C-Class and GLK-Class, it was only logical for the new W212 E-Class to receive the same treatment for its exterior - including the headlights.
