2009 Ferrari F430 Replacement

Ferrari is currently working on the replacement to the F430, with a possible unveiling on the 15th September 2009; the opening media day of the 63rd International Frankfurt Motor Show.



The new mid-engine V8 Ferrari is rumoured to feature a new aluminium chassis, a direct-injection engine derived from the California and a modified version of its 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The new Ferrari has big shoes to fill as when the F430 was launched in 2004 it was praised as being a big improvement over the outgoing F360.

I hope they don't ruin it by giving it only two rear lights like the 599. A proper Ferrari should have 4.

I love their rear lights!

Not the 612 though...I like how they are partially exposed in the F430, 599, and Enzo. Weird thing is that they are so simple yet so pretty...like the jewel-like headlights of an Alfa Romeo.

So do I, but I might like the California even more. My ultimate dream Ferrari remains the 599 GTB, though. Absolutely gorgeous, and it does everything except seat more than two--and if I could afford one I could get some sedan anyway.

It always amazes me how Ferrari keeps making the V8 model that goes back to the original 308 even more high-performing and better-looking. It is their most important car, and everything else be damned, the one their reputation really hinges on.

As a kid, I loved the 308/328, but the 348/355 was disappointing - maybe better performing, better car, but not nearly as sexy. And then came the 360, which was/is exactly what a Ferrari should be. I can't believe the 360 is 10 years old already. It'll be hard to top.

Dude, respect your opinion, but the F355 was pure sex on wheels. It so eclipsed the 348 that many people forgave Ferrari for the rather patrician 348. I would take the F355 over a 360 Modena, but the F430 over both.

The F355 is one of the most successful Ferraris of all time and basically revitalized the brand.

I think I would also take it over a 360, but not a 430.A

I have colleagues who have been wait-listed for the F430 for a few years now, and it seems like they will most likely be getting the replacement. I wonder if they will be happy about that. I love that F430, and I can't wait to see what Ferrari have installed for us.

I don't know. They absolutely love the F430 when they were wait-listed a few years ago. I supposed you're right about the latest and greatest Ferrari. They knew they may be getting a replacement of the F430 when they signed up anyways. And being past Ferrari owners themselves helped getting on that waiting list.

Ferrari doesn't disappoint--this new car will undoubtedly be an improvement over the F430. The only reason I wouldn't get one would be to get a Scud instead. What a gorgeous vehicle. I was at a sports car dealership in my area, for fun, and took a few shots of a white one that had already been sold. Here's one:

The F430 is out of my reach. However, the Porsche Turbo is not. I was thinking about the F430 when it was around $180K, but now you can't get one for less than $250K. The Scuderia is a dream machine. Maybe one day.
