This is great news for sure. I am up for a vehicle within the next 12 months and must say that I will probably buy a Ford/Lincoln vehicle - I feel it is the right thing to do and they are making compelling products lately. The one thing I would really like to understand is whether this sentiment is shared by other AutoSpiers out there? Ford has racked up quality measures over the past number of years and has really made strides in terms of quality, design and overall product -- will this ultimately translate into sales? Or have 'we' (the collective 'we') given up and react with the Pavlovian response that Toyotas and Hondas are better 'just because'. The reality is that the numbers and recalls do not support this myth anymore, but has perception been shifted? Personally I have owned several Ford vehicles and never had a catastrophic failure like the one I had with my brand new Porsche vehicle some 3,000 miles into ownership. I have officially turned the corner...what about you?

Agreed. But unfortunately some peoples perceptions of a brand (even when they know its gotten better) will never change. But I would encourage anyone looking to buy American to at least check out Ford/Lincoln as they seem to be the best positioned american auto manufacturer right now.

Very believable. I have had zero problems with all my Fords, spanning over 2 decades. I drove an Aerostar for 250,000 miles, zero problems. I hauled heavy cargo and towed heavy trailers with it, still no problems.

Bad Quality in US cars is an "Old Wives Tail"

The only thing I can say about all cars, is the automakers are cutting corners with the plastic snap together parts that break when you need to pull a dashboard panel, the cheap plastic self-destroys itself, Foreign and domestic. They should be using screws, as screws were made so you can re-assemble parts and panels back together. The Snap together idea is just a short-term way to save time on the assembly lines and rips off customers.

And No, I'm not pulling a panel to fix something, Ford is offering a bluetooth Synch retro-fit for older cars, so you need to pull the Radio to do the job.

Comments like these demonstrates how much many consumers do not know about cars, True Ford,Buick and many of the other American brands have upped the anti on Quality and performance personally I look at all brands before I buy but many will skip American cars because the THINK there are bad. In reality many of the newer American Models are derived from the European version and now made in America.

Suprising that Ford is actually producing more quality and reliability in their vehicles. I guess that was their weakness. Hopefully Ford will continue to be successful in that area.

All cars loose money. they are not investments. Why overspend for High end models, unless you really need comfort and performance for interstate driving.
