The 2009 Yukon XL Denali is equipped with a 6.

2L V8 engine leveraging 403 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque. The XL Denali has the new standard 6-speed automatic transmission that is included across the board and comes with either a 2- or all-wheel-drive system. Fuel economy for the Denali is 12 mpg city /19 mpg hwy and14 mpg combined.

I was never a fan of the new Yukons. They seemed to be an uglier version of the Tahoe. Now the newer Tahoe's love. Nice grille and headlight setup, not these weird huge bug eyes. Again they used to have a nice set of projectors up front like the Honda Pilot. Now they both step backwards and go to big flashlight style lamps. And the taillights on a Tahoe are clean and crisp. On the Yukon they look like something APC sells at Pep Boys. Looks like a kid took some vinyl made cutouts and slapped them over the lamps.

I believe the Yukon and the Tahoe are the same suv with different bits inside and a different body kit.

i like the older bodies Yukon denali's....the clear tailights look aftermarket and cheap and the headlights are ugly on the new models

Yes I know they are the same, exactly the point. I would take a Tahoe LTZ over a Yukon Denali anyday. If I was in the market for a big SUV, I would easily take one over an Expedition as well.

If EVERYBODY knows the Tahoe & Yukon are the same, why does GM still sell the same SUV for different brands? I like the Escalade, but I wish the exterior were differentiated more from the main-streamers from Chevy & GMC.

Hopefully, GM is looking at cutting production of all these vehicles that are basically the same as each other except for the front/rear fascias.

I believe the GMC is aimed toward being a professional work-truck, whereas the Chevy is geared toward suburban families. Not that it makes sense, just, pointing out what I believe their logic is.

It's been GMs nameplate since years back. Make one car, change the sheetmetal and sell it across every brand. The Chevy Cobalt came out, so it also became a Pontiac G5. They love to rename cars. The Avalanche is a Excalade EXT. I can see that since the Caddy is the luxury version. But GMC as a professional work truck is kinda losing its name. Especially when you offer a Chevy Suburban and a GMC Suburban. I really would not be surprised if GMC is on a chop block. They are sorta like Mercury is to Ford, except only SUVs and Trucks are made.

2007Tahoe

It'd be nice if they used the nose from the Sierra on the Yukon. Although it doesn't matter- this thing's dead after 2011 anyway.
