2009 Lincoln MKS Breaks Cover at the LA Auto Show
This is the new Lincoln MKS Lincoln's AWD entry into the near luxury segment where it will compete with the STS, 5 series, E class, and other cars in this highly competitive segment. There appear to be alot of styling cues from other car makes like the rear end of the Quattroporte, the XF's chrome around the windows, and the overall shape of the passat. but overall not a bad execution for lincoln. Personally the more understated look of the rear wheel drive LS is more appealing, but this car "seems" to have a much nicer interior Read Article

So, LexusKing, since you've driven and tested this particular car, which isn't available to the public yet, even someone who is as obviously important as you, you can make this judgment. I will take this comment and file it in the appropriate container.

Right, as opposed to Lexus being owned by Toyota, which is certainly not a "generic mass market brand" good point idiot.

ATrip - right on! I wanted to say the same thing. There is nothing more generic than Toyota. They make the best appliances!

Looks great.

There are some pictures of a black one floating around the net that are hot!

correction...it appears that Lincoln intends this to compete with the Cadillac CTS and it is based on the new Ford Taurus, not the near luxury crowd. so they will have two cars in the same class the MKZ, and the MKS. Good luck to Lincoln, im not sure how they will compete with the rear wheel drive CTS, and judging from the interior it is not on par with the Cadillac, but will see i guess

Nice Looking Auto...can't wait to see it up close at the LA auto show.
This will definitely offer stiff competition to the Lexus ES, not that that is much of a stretch.

Nice Job Lincoln!

I was about to saw what bmwdrvr said, the MKS seems to be proportioned to the new CTS. I really don't see the nomenclature either. MKZ and MKS are waaaay to close together for discerning.

If anything this should be the updated MKZ. But I do think it is an improvment. Almost looks like it could be the new Town Car. But I still would rather have a new CTS if given the choice.

I still can't get past this,

"NEAR LUXURY segment where it will compete with the STS, 5 series, E class"

All three of those vehicles are Firmly Planted in The LUXURY Segment...

Nothing 'NEAR' About It!

I would pick the new Cadillac CTS handdown over this Lincoln MKS or whatever they call it.

thats not the XF interior in the slightest they attempted to take some cues it seems, but just from pics alone it was clear that this car is no match for the XF interior quality wise

That's true. Very similar layout, though.

Ford has an unhealthy obsession with fake side vents.
