2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 Official Pictures - Mr. BadAss, Your Car is Ready
Mercedes-Benz is serious about showing the world the performance potential of their AMG Branded cars, and this SL65 is the icing on the cake.  There is no questioning the motive of this car, from the front end to the rear diffuser with massive exhaust, there is nothing tame about this car.

The flared fenders, the rear spoiler, and massive rims which show off the huge brakes serve as eye candy that excites the mind as to the performance lurking beneath with the 12 cylinder engine.

Grr, I hate when they delete stories and leave them in the RSS feed. Anywhere, here's what I posted in the other one:

"That front is beautiful. I think that's exactly what the new lights need. The larger and more symmetrical scoops on the side compliment them perfectly. And the side profile is just elegant. Big thumbs up."

Staar, you need to be more informed.. Consumer Reports latest automotive reviews recommended the 3, 5, and 7 series. Not one of the Mercedes models were recommended. Most of the Benz's got really awful ratings. None of BMW's models scored bad.

What I believe is a "bit much" would be the styling on the Lexus IS-F. This SL was done right. Lexus shoud take notes.

Holy crap. That is possibly the most attractive car Mercedes has come up with ever. It actually looks like a car worth six figures. The old SL looked like the base price was $40k. This thing is awesome, though.

Agent 00J,

Your title for this story is missing a very important piece of information: This is not the SL65 like of old, this is the Hard-Core Black Series, a completely different kettle of fish.

A very glaring omission on your part.

Damn, the front looks better on this car than on the Sl550. Eve though I still like the oval headlamps, these is a more cohesive design. Damn, In black please...now where do I get the money to get one...

Wish Mercedes would make the SL550 look like this.
At the price Benz will be asking i would get a F430 or Gallardo.

The front is well done, but I don't like the sides and rear. They should be more slick!

Front end design/kit looks very similar to the SL63 F1 Safety Car. Looks stuuning. Could very well be the replacement of the limited edition CLK DTM.

And it also look miles better than the soft and a bit bland regular SL.

This is as sporty as the CLK 63 Black Series model but still appears to have maintain a high level of luxury. The build quality on this is SL is superb. It's a car for the play boy who has deep pockets. I like it.

I will anyways...US Production level = 200 units

It's 550 pounds lighter than the "Stock" SL65.
No Active Body Control--they decided on a full race suspension to have the best track manners.

Available in 7 colors

And it will be debuted to the world next weekend at the German Grand Prix.

I'm stoked...

I'd prefer for them to give the black series treatment to the 63, but then again I'm partial to the twin turbo 8. A+ on styling though. With fenders of that magnitude, it's easy to look like a car out of need for speed; however, they cleaned it up nicely.

What twin turbo 8? The 65 is a twin turbo V12 and the 63 is a NA V8.

I always found Merc's designs lacking. The craftsmanship is superb, and they take advantage of the wide tire sporty look. But they usually do nothing for m. This new SL though, is FIERCE!
