2010 Buick LaCrosse Revealed

GM has released the details and images of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse prior to its world debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.

As you can see from the pictures the car stays true to the Buick Invicta concept car introduced at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show.

The 2010 Buick LaCrosse will be available in three different trim-levels including CX, CXL and CXS:

CX – equipped with a new 3.0L direct injection V6, premium cloth seats and 17-inch wheels. The 3.0L engine generates an estimated 255 horsepower and 211 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
CXL – also equipped with the new 3.0L direct injection V6, adds leather-appointed heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control...

Wow...I'm pretty impressed with how far Lincoln and Buick have come along in terms of design...even though I can't help but notice similarities in this case with Mazda and Nissan lines.

Your wrong. This isn't a rebodied Insignia. Despite sharing the basic chassis (Epsilon II) as the Insignia it is a DIFFERENT car. The Buick will have a longer wheelbase and have different options across the board from powertrain to gadgets. It would be like saying the ES and the Camry are the same car or that the Honda Oddessay and the Accord are the same car because they utilize the same basic chassis. The Buick that will be a rebadged version of the Insignia will be the Buick Regal which for now is a Chinese model only (the Regal and this Lacrosse will be sold side by side in China.

The Epsilon II chassis, much like the Epsilon I chassis before it is a WOLRD chassis. It had much of its development done in Europe (as Opel does a great job with FWD small and midsize cars) and GME is the GM Homeroom of global midsize cars. But the Epsilon chassis is very flexible, in fact all cars are said to be able to be produced on any Epsilon II line around the world with no modification needed to the design (a major drawback to Epsilon I). If you think sharing a chassis makes two cars identical then go drive a last generation Malibu and the current one back to back (both are Epsilon I cars). Or for that matter drive a SAAB 9-3 and a Pontiac G6 back to back. They are definitely not the same car.

But then again your just a domestic basher so it isn't like you would admit that you are wrong, nor would you actually read my post and learn something.

WHAT WOULD BE NICE FOR THIS IS IF BUICK TOOK THE CAR AND MADE A SPORTS MODEL WITH AWD WITH A LS6 OR 7 UNDER THE HOOD AND A NICE 19 OR 2O INCH WHEEL PACKAGE FOR THIS. i AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS...THIS CAR REALLY LOOKS LIKE A WINNER COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS LACROSSE MODELS. I THINK BUICK IS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WITH THEIR NEW STYLING

This is the first Buick I've ever been excited about! I'm only 26 and don't see this as an "old persons car" at all.

Looks good. It doesn't scream Malibu design redux, which is great. And the interior is pretty nice. The center stack is sporty and classy too. The rear, flip-down LCD monitors are slick too...provide the ability to hide the units when not in use, but also provide a way to adjust viewing angles based on how the front seats are positioned. Looks like they're offering HUDs too, which I think every medium, large car should have.

Hopefully, the on-again, off-again Regal remake will eventually be released before this new LaCrosse gets old. They can really compliment each other in the Buick lineup.

What the article dose not tell you is that this car will have push button start, remote start via the factory key fob so you dont have to have a funky after market key fob with the factory fob. It has bluetooth ready for hands free calling, it has available heated and cooled seats and available heated rear seats. It will have many high end features at a great price point. and it will be built in Kansas. The car is really targeted at Lexus and not so much Lincoln as will be all future Buick products. We at GM are very proud of this car and are very excited about its release.

Ive been waiting for this car to be released. Its too bad GM waited this long though. Same goes for the Chevy Cruze, that should be sold in USA RIGHT NOW. Either way, this thing is gorgeous. For the first time ever, I can say that there are TWO buicks I'd like to have. WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO!!???!?!??!!?

wow another excellent effort from GM, this Buick honestly to me is very good looking inside and out. Its funny Buick is moving to the position where Lincoln currently resides, this would be a good time if wasnt for the current situation for Cadillac to move further upmarket, as it obviously has Buick to fill the near luxury gap. Im curious to see what the next Buick will look like.

I'm 26 and have officially put this car on my "HOT" list! The design, platform, features, quality and details will officially put Buick back on the map!

While the Enclave is nice, it's still not for everyone since most people are satisfied with a sedan. This new truly makes me proud to be an American because I know that we are capable of producing WORLD CLASS products. I only see things getting better for GM. Buicks will start eating Lexus, Infiniti, Acura and any other "non-tier 1" car for breakfast! Now, Cadillac can just focus on BMW and Mercedes and possibly create the Cadillac Sixteen or a limited production model to go head-to-head with Bentley and Rolls Royce.

GM IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE! AMERICA IS BACK! I hope they advertise the hell out of this car. It's about time we put money back into our own economy and cars like these leave us with no excuse.

PS. Lexus makes great cars but they don't have "soul". As a member of Generation X, I don't connect with anything they make. I don't even connect with Toyota for that matter. I've honestly tried to look at their products to see if there was something I'd like... to no avail. Even Scion, their "youth-marketed" brand doesn't do much for me. Maybe it's the fact that Lexus and Toyota has created this "We're perfect image" and after finding out that they don't connect with young people, they decide to make these ugly-ass Scions (with the exception of the Scion tC) to try and "appeal" to us. That company got arrogant over the years and wont admit when they make mistakes or that it actually HURTS the environment much more to make a PRIUS. Ok, enough of my rambling... I know some of you will agree with the truth.

Generally I like the car.The design details are good and show that it's a buick. The overall shape is a bit derivative of other makes. The Lincoln MKS has a similar shape to it.The interior however is a homerun. I can't tell as to the quality of materials from the picture but the design architecture is great.It seems a lot of auto designers are creating conservative overall shapes but differentiating with various accents.For example in the Lacross there is that side crease that flows from the headlights and then makes a hunch curve over the rear fender.From my perspective that should have been eccoed in the greenhouse line.In cars from the 50's and 60's the designers were really more bold with the actual body shapes.In this case it's the accents that are sprucing up the body shape. The only American sedan coupe that seems to show this properly is the Dodge Challenger. That hike fender over the rear wheels is an actual shape change not an accent. Without that side accent the car's shape would be decidedly dull.

Finally, a design from GM that flows and beautiful at every angle. I must congratulate Buick designers for a Job well done. I bet some haters on this site are hating and wish it was a MB or BMW creation.
