2010 Chevrolet Camaro OFFICIAL Pictures - The Wait is ALMOST Over!
It sure has been a long, long, long time we have spent looking at spy photos and numerous test vehicles cloaked in various states of disguise.

After that long, long, long wait, we are pleased to let you know that Chevrolet has finally released official photos of the Camaro.  Slated to arrive in LS, LT and SS trim levels, engine choices range from a 3.6 liter V6 rated at 296hp all the way up to the 416hp 6.2 liter V8 which is said to have cylinder deactivation to help with fuel economy.

A fully independent suspension coupled with StabiliTrak along with a 52/48 (F/R) weight distribution should make the Camaro a decent partner on twisty winding roads while Brembo brakes on the top dog SS make short work of stopping.

This is one car I can't wait to get behind the wheel of, and although I have been pretty critical of GM for not getting this car to market sooner, I am still excited to finally see it go on sale.  An official launch is scheduled next week for the United States, and we expect more details to emerge than.

Until then these pictures will have to wet your appetite.

i like it. i hate the cheap looking back end. and the pipes are too small, and the grill should be painted the color of the car, but all in all its a good looking car.

Biggest disappointment? The B-pillar. It would have been cool if it could have been a real hard-top.

Otherwise, it is probably the best execution of the retro-pony car. I'll look forward to seeing in real life.

It would be cool if the brembos & the handling pkg were offered on all trim levels, not just the SS. I'm just sayin'...

They've waited one and a half years too long to release this car. The body is already starting to look dated and stale because we've seen these pics since like January of 2006.

The car is hot, but it is starting to lose its sizzle.

Hopefully, when I see it on the road it will reignite my interest, but with the Charger, Mustang, Challenger, and all these other retro remakes, I feel that this one will be a quiet launch.

I've seen so many pictures of the "New Camaro" over the last few years that I'm already tired of the design and it won't even be out for another year. Geez

Has the oil pressure and boost meter etc always been under the dash like that? It would seem to be hard to read while driving.

I remember seeing the Camaro for the first time at a car show three or four years ago (?) and since then a bazillion pictures. It feels as if the car has been for sale for a few years. The interior design is marginal at best....

Would have been truly awesome and a great seller for GM had it been released 10 years ago.

That is one ugly steering wheel. Sometimes retro doesn't work.

Agreed on the retro not always working.. I'm not really diggin' the interior. The radio kind of reminds me of one of the Playskool toys my kid had when he was 2.

Otherwise I like it ok, but not enough to replace my 95 Z/28 with one.

Look at that interior. If that's the production interior, a Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger has NOTHING on this!.

I agree, the interior of the Stang is cheap and horriblle in person. Looks good in photos, but it is all hard hollow plastic and noisy to the touch.

Finally! I'm lovin' the interior. A couple things I noticed off the top of my head though...

The seats seem rather plain! It is GM after all.
The handbrake looks plain, and LONG! Long enough to use as a weapon.
The DIC looks very nice! Looks to be higher res than previously seen on a Chevy.
The radio screen looks fantastic! Thank you for changing it up GM!
I like the steering wheel.

I've always liked the exterior.
What kind of headlights are those?
BMW Angel eyes. Lol.

I don't know about the Germans but the people at Chrysler and Ford should be concerned. If that's the type of interior they producing and if it's as solid as the photos look then GM has a winner!.

The
germans to, GM, has been hammering out much improved cars as of late that has the entire industry's attention.

GM is so stupid. Now that gas prices are over the top, they release a "muscle car" ??? Geeeze talk about bad timing. When it comes to design and styling always strike while the iron is hot. They did a great job with the Saturn Sky, so I know there are smart people there, somewhere, but this whole Camaro project was hamstrung from the start.

They're not stupid, you're just ignorant of how the auto industry works.

Other auto makers are also releasing muscle/high powered cars right now too. An example would be the new Challenger - perhaps you heard about it?

These cars were in development before the recent meteoric rise of gas prices and are now past the point of no return in the process. Bottom line - cars generally do not go from concept to the dealer lots in months. It's more like years.

Just take a look at whats being made by all of the autmakers today, ever single automaker has a car that is made for fun and uasaly it is not an economy car. Its easy to say they have bad timming here but when you are an automaker it can take years before you go from the planning stage to the actual car being produced and this is whar happend with Gm this car was being designd before the price of gas took off and before the new CAFE rules. Im quite sure Toyota as brillint as they are with exacution would never have made the new Tundra if they knew about the sharp climb in gas..... they lost large amounts of money becuase they havent sold enough trucks to recoop the price of paying for a new plant, advertising, testing, engeneering, and tooling the plant, just to only have it run for a year or so.

i think ignorrant to how the auto industry works is a bit much.......because if you have to knock GM because of this car, be fair and include everyone from toyota to Gm because those 2 and everyone else has gas guzzlers that are just coming out, and are planned for the future.....look how many CUV's still get poor gas mileage, or how many sedans are coming on the market that require premium fuel and are only getting 16 17 in the city and just mid 20's in the highway for the sake of more power and performance. People love to pick on the American car companies for this but a look at the market you claim GM is ignorrant due to a "niche" vehicle may help you lose your ignorrance of the market

If cars weren't so fat and heavy they wouldn't need 300+ hp just to have only adequate performance. Thats why we have so many cars getting under 30mpg hwy.

GM's newer cars are very fuel efficient...period. No one else on the planet makes vehicles in this (or many other classes) that are as efficient.

One good example is the Pontiac G8 GT. Sexy, commanding vehicle with an awesome interior. EPA ratings are 15/24mpg, and these ratings are completely bogus. A friend just got the G8 GT and now after a few thousand miles is routinely getting about 28mpg on the highway. EPA ratings are garbage.

Obviously this car isn't going to get toyota prius fuel economy numbers, but its a performance-oriented vehicle. GM really has come a long way from GM of the past.
