At the 2010 North American International Auto Show, expect several automakers to return after many bailed out on the event in previous years due to the recession. The past years were not good for the auto sector and this was evidenced by the waning attendance of auto shows throughout the country.

Global manufacturers decided not to attend the events in an attempt to cut costs for an auto show that would only bring less global news media coverage. However, the US is on its way to recovery. Both Chrysler and GM stepped out of bankruptcy and are expected to participate in the auto show. So far, it is still unknown which companies are set to join the show.
