Well Toyota IQ copied Mercedes' Smart Car so what's the big deal right?. Lexus copied the Maybach rear seating in their current LS long wheel base.

Pointless as it gets worse fuel economy than the Civic Hybrid. They gained nothing from the hybrid styling.

the point of this is that it has a low msrp and large production numbers so it will be a bread and butter car. they are going to beat the prius by flooding the market and having a much lower MSRP.

so this 20 thousand dollar prius imitation has less power than a prius, less of a name than the prius, and less fuel efficient than a prius.

So UAW1 how much does the Volt cost again? Was it twice the amount? Yea that sounds about right. O and another thing I keep hearing that the car will come out in 2010? That is a long time for Honda to spread the gap.

no offense but i'm sick of the comments of oh this copied this copied that, it serves no point in this case cuz if ppl look at the ORIGINAL insight and the FCX clarity, they can see where this Insight took design cues from. If I didn't know better I would have to say that the older insight was produced/designed b4 the current prius and so does that mean the prius copied the insights backend?

I would also say Acura design people snuck into the room and added a big metal beak to the front of this. Great. Now Honda adds fugly grilles to all their cars. They already ruined the Pilot by trying to make it look like the boxy Pathfinder, and gave it dual exhausts with tips that are more fitting on a Mini Cooper. They went from nicely styled projectors to big bug eyes.

But back to the Prius..er I mean Insight. It shows that in order for a hybrid to really be efficient it needs to have this style of shape for aerodynamics. Are they discontinuing the Civic Hybrid now too?

Still think this and the Prius are ugly, and the next time I see one in the fast lane not passing traffic, I'm driving through it. You bought a Hybrid to be economical, get in the right lane and do 50.

Gets the same city mileage as the Civic Hybrid (40/43mpg vs 40/45mpg), a bit less on the highway which I assume is because the 1.3L engine has to work harder.

I suppose the geniuses didn't notice that the Insight is $4000 cheaper than the Civic Hybrid. Unlike diesels, hybrids go down in price, not up.

Honda should rename it the Honda Diesel Killer. The absolute cheapest diesel car in America is the base Jetta TDI at just over $22,000 with an unbeatable 30/41mpg (I'm sure Autoexpress can somehow spin this as better than 40/43mpg).

I don't count the STUPID as a car, its more of a lawnmower.
