2010 Lexus IS 250C to make U.S. debut in LA

We first saw the 2010 Lexus IS 250C at the 2008 Paris Motor Show last month.

The hard-top convertible Lexus IS will now make its stateside debut at the 2008 LA Auto Show next week. Lexus has yet to confirm when exactly the IS 250C will arrive in U.S. dealerships but we expect to find out official details at the show.

Power for the drop-top IS comes from the same 204-hp 2.5L V6 from the IS 250 sedan. It will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Lexus designers made some tweaks to the three-part roof mechanism to keep performance up to par with the IS sedan.

I don't know why but the look of the IS has become old very fast. The IS's interior is way to small to call comfortable.

Then I wonder what BMW is? Because this coupe looks better, sexier, more innovative than the 3-Series-Mini-Cooper-Coupe by a long shot..

Thats because BMW-Mini-Coppers are blue collar fat snooby people who acutally can't afford the 3-series-mini-cooper $300.00 leases, while Lexus is well conservative people, aka Paul McCartney & Tyra Banks who actually watch their diet & can fit into a back seat.

Have you seen Tyra Banks lately? she put on some weight : ). You're referring to her because you saw an old episode of "FUNKMASTER FLEX" where she asked FMF to add some nice wheels to her SC430?. You do know cars are occasionally given to celebrities to drive for FREE right? it's a cheap form of marketing.

"Oh! I saw David Beckham drive a Lexus LS600HL, it must be as prestigious and luxurious as a Rolls Royce or Maybach 62" -- please, it's not going to happen.

By the way, many drivers of Lexus are leasers too. Former owners of Toyota's that got suckered into driving a luxury car for all the wrong reasons. Leasers are usually are business types who want a tax break, there's nothing wrong with it and certainly doesn't mean they can't afford it. Only the average joe's think like you. The wealthy are smart with their money. ;)

its silver1 with his typical bs. I agree that Lexus is a wonderful car. In terms of luxury, refinement, and technology. In terms of performance, class, style and prestige? NO. Its not there yet. It wont take long before it gets there *but by the way that new RX looks i reckon it will take forever*
This car cant be compared to a 3 series. I also agree with LexSucks with the comment bellow for the fact that a hardtop will add so much weight for that gutless engine to push.
Im not bagging Lexus here, but im just pointing out facts. Yes i do own a BMW and NO im not biased in my views since i have contemplated on a GS460 but i didnt like how it drove.

I know your all going to hate me and flame me, but the G37 HT Convertable has to be compared to this. IMHO the G37 is far and above the IS250 in looks, interiors refinement, and performance. That said here is my list of convertables ranging from top to bottom:
1. 3 Series Conv (if price were not an issue)
2. G37 HT Conv.
3. IS 250c

I like the design on the IS but I don't think the convertible looks too good, but that's just me i don't like the way convertible coupe's look like the 3 series, CLK, A4

This car does nothing for me. It's just as boring as other Lexus products. And it screams: "I want to get a large chunk of the successful entry-level premium coupe market the Germans are dominating so my masters (Lexus) simply took an IS and cut it in half and I was born!"

No thanks. Give me the BMW 3 series coupe anyday.

This car is pretty interesting. I would like to see how it performs. Kudos to Lexus nevertheless as they have in its second generation made the IS into both a covertible and sedan.
A nice well built alternative to Kraut mobiles. Should do pretty well in California.

I can only imagine how slow that thing will be. The IS250 is already super slow. Adding 500lbs worth of hardtop equipment will only make it more of a turd.

The newest Volvo C70 to me is the best looking of them all. Even better than BMW for once. I would put the Beemer 2nd in looks to the C70. When I saw the new model I was in love.
