2011 Infiniti R38T & R50 rendering...
Here is a rendering of what a possible 2011 Infiniti R38T & R50 might look like. Rumors say that it will have the VR38DETT engine from the GT-R, but will also have a V-8 in its line-up. The V-8 that will be used will be the new successor to the VH45, a 5.0 liter V8 that will be seen in the upcoming FX50. It will be four-door model with larger rear seats.
The interior will be more luxurious with soft-leather and wood. The roof will be slightly taller and there will be more rear-leg room in the back and should seat 4-5 adults comfortably. The weight will be kept down using carbon-fiber components and the car will be designed to achieve sub-8 minutes Nürburgring lap times. The car will be positioned against the Porsche Panamera and will be released around 2011.

Ugh, these renderings look like like they were drawn by a 7th grader.
The gaping Audi rip-off grille is absurd. STOP. JUST STOP IT! STOP THIS!

actually the grille is off the GTR, with a big more gap in the upper semicircle, than the GTR, where the infiniti logo is placed.

Oh come on, that's more of a design from you. And shut up about 7th graders.

It's great it's positioned against the Porsche Panamera or CLS and I believe it can achieve sub-8 minutes if NISSAN wanted to.
But not in this outfit.

It's about time. I like the name "R" for its type, it almost sounds like the R390 from the 90s.

Too early to dwell on this pic and many of the upcoming "renderings", but the idea of it is brilliant. Could this be another Porsche beater for $30k-$40 less? Except for Porsche and Porsche fans, how can anyone not love competition?

I think they'll focus more on the next Q and M before making a niche sports sedan like this. But even the idea of this is very promising. And it probably won't have that GTR nose, not on an Infiniti.

Everything looks good except for the grill which wont make it to the Infiniti, agreed.

Infiniti hasn't even trademarked the name R-anything at the U.S trademark office. Where did this come from and why was it published on here? It has no merit what so ever.

It would be a very smart move and it would probably be far more successful than trying to compete with the S, 7, 8 and LS.

Why does it always seem that the extreme German car freaks like to get off on playing the gay/feminine card? It's so old school!...and sad.

It should take the rear styling cues from the GT-R. This rear looks like a$$ - pun intended!

Strange how all these carmakers copy the Audi wide grill. The Audi grill harks back to Audi's Auto Union Silverarrow racers and is part of the heritage. What is Infiniti's excuse?
