It was a concept, never does a concept make it completely intact with every feature into production. but I'm impressed GM is even taking this plunge in the first place.

The part that gets me is that...why couldn't they have kept the 2.8L turbo V6? Instead they put in an engine only 35 more horsepower than the other turbo 4 that's available for the Regal. Granted, this looks a lot better - but it also looks identical to the Opel Insignia OPC which has the aforementioned V6 turbo with the Saab XWD (AWD) and 325 horsepower? I mean, the V6 turbo is already even in North America - you can get it in the SRX. I'm guessing the reason was price. The price might have been too steep. But 325hp with an AWD system that can transfer torque laterally between the rear wheels like Honda's SH-AWD or Mitsubishi's Super Active Yaw Control is a win. And I think they made a mistake by not bringing this here unaltered from it's Euro form. It's been toned down. I guess we can't handle it.

The greenhouse copied the Infinti G sedan's..... but since its not Korean its just treated like its orignal. The face is nothing but an Opel.

Buick says that the V6 engine did not have the refinement it was looking for and the AWD system was too heavy. I think they just don't want a 4 cylinder in the Regal no matter what. But, I think there is another very important reason. Historically when the Regal was at its most potent (1980s) the beast of a model was the Grand National, and finally, the mighty GNX. I predict there will be a GNX version. I predict that there will be an AWD model with a bigger, more powerful turbo 4. I'm thinking the car will be on a serious weightloss programme as well, because it's quite portly as it is. 255hp is only the tip of the iceberg, I'm sure.

They did play all their cards in Europe though. Just a thought. I am well aware of the GNX, however why give yourself the extra work of making a modified version of this body style again - since this is identical to the 325hp Opel and I can't imagine this GS and a hypothetical GNX looking the same. (Also, I think you meant they don't want a V6 in the Regal, not a 4 as you said). I don't really believe that it didn't have the "refinement" it was looking for as...it's good enough for the Caddy, but not good enough for a Buick? Plus, why make a "sport" model at all if you're interested most in refinement? It does need a bit of a diet though, I agree. I doubt there will be a higher power GNX though. I really don't see that happening.
