These are the first real photographs of the upcoming 2014 Subaru Forester, following last month’s leaked brochure. As you can see, the design of the car can be described as a more modern approach to the current generation model as there’s nothing revolutionary about how it looks. We notice the updated grille design, more prominent wheel arches and a small quarter window up front. Also new are the heavily sculpted door sills and the mirrors which are now mounted on the doors.

According to that brochure we’ve mentioned, the 2014 Subaru Forester is slightly larger than the model it’s set to replace, being 4595mm long (up by 35mm), 1795mm tall (up by 15mm) and 1695mm wide (up by 20mm). The wheelbase has also grown in size by 25mm, up to 2640mm so theoretically there’s more room inside the cabin for the passengers sitting in the back. Another advantage has to do with the increased boot space which has grown to 505 liters (compared to 450 liters). For the version with a power liftgate, the available load area stands at 488 liters.
