800 hp twin-supercharged CTS-V to embarrass M, S, RS & AMG
Okay fine, this may not be a factory model so you can argue the title of this article saying that “No, BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz are still better,” but Predator Performance got their hands on a Cadillac CTS-V and made a 800 horsepower beast. The Predator Cadillac CTS-V has a 427 cid 7.0-liter C5R race block engine that gives it 806 horsepower and 756 lb-ft. of torque. Of Course, its fitted with numerous design mods to make it sexy including HRE 19-inch wheels.
427 cid 7.0-liter C5R race block
806 horsepower @ 6400 rpm
756 lb / ft torque @ 5100 rpm
AFR CNC heads w/ fast intake manifold
JE pistons w/ Lunati rods
Comp Cam hydraulic roller
Twin P-1SC Prochargers
Custom fabricated intercooler
Custom fabricated two pass radiator
Differential and transmission gears treated by Rockland Standard Gear co.
Custom differential, transmission, and supplemental engine coolers
Grand Am fender flares, rear spoiler, and heat extractor hood from Specter Works
HRE 19 x 10.5 wheels
285/35ZR19 and 305/30ZR19 Michelin tires
Brembo Gold Series 8 piston calipers w/ 15-inch rotors up front and 4 piston 14.5-inch rotors in rear

^I bet it's not.
CTS-V is already $53K. DOUBLING the power, I wouldn't be surprised if it's over $80K or even $90,000.

I don't think Caddy is selling these things for under sticker.
Maybe this is a new price for this year, but check online:
CTS-V-- $53,370.

I love this car... I can't wait for this thing to hit Europe! I would love to trade in my current car for one of the new gen CTS-V...
BTW: Isn't that title just a little stupid? Ofcause a car with a V8 engine and two blowers will beat cars with no more than 420 hp! That would be like saying 1001 hp Veyron to embarass Golf GTI! I like the car but that is just silly

Why would you compare an 800hp TUNED CTS-V to stock versions of the other cars with half the power?
How about comparing it to an 800hp RS4, 800hp M3 and 800hp C55?

Yeah TRD1, have you drivin a CTS-V i guess you are refering to the streetfire video, every car company makes lemmons. It happens, that was just caught on camera. By the way, does Toyota Racing Development even have any sports cars, or even a RWD cars. Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

As fast as the car is quality wise it is still in the stone age compared to the M, S, RS & AMG. It's only good attribute is that powerful engine but what's a powerful engine going to do you when you're sitting in absolute misery not luxury. I hope the new one is more revised and better parts are slapped onto it's interior. From what I see the interior is much improved. I just hope the quality, fit & finishing are up to par.

According to the people who've driven it (of there are few), they've remarked on how much better the materials are.

Unlikely to be able to use any of that power. Only point if you are a 1/4 mile racer.

Didn't they have a tune BMW M5 with 800+ hp or something posted here last week? Anyway, I would take the M, RS, AMG, Lexus-F over this Cadillac anyday. Sorry Cadillac, I like you but not that much; that just the way life is sometime.

Well, its notable that a tuner has been able to wring that much power out of a GM engine.
What is notable, is that tuners have been doing this with German cars for MANY years and now Caddy is finally entering the arena.
Remember that Brabus 7.3 litre V-12 e-class that is in the Guiness book of records as the worlds fastest 4-door sedan?
How many years ago was that?
They electronically limited the speed to the fastest Michelin tire rating: 206 MPH.
With the traction control turned off, the beast would still smoke the tires by stabbing the accelerator at 80 MPH!
But it was a totally drivable vehicle ... not a racecar-stiff boy-racer.
On the plus side, the Caddy looks a lot better than in the past. And GM's plastics no longer scream "there is no plastic too cheap for GM!" Some day they might even offer interiors in different colors ... like a REAL car.

The CTS (old body) actually had pretty pleasing materials to touch. The problem was not the finish or feel of the plastics. It was mainly the design they somehow conspired to make soft touch plastic look cheap and hard. I agree they need more than just tan and black as well

GM has pretty good mechanical designres, but their weakest part has always been the interiors. However, if they keep improving at their current rate then watch out!

Seriously, the new CTS V could very well pose a threat. The original CTS was a great car, like a 4 door 'Vette.

The old CTS-V is still competitive with the new generation M3 and RS4. 15 or 20 less hp but bare minimum 80 more lb ft. I expect nothing under 450 hp. And if not for the interior on the C class expect the C63 to perform on a whole different level than the M3 and RS4.

The C63 will be faster, no doubt...
But I hope you'd admit that the handling won't come close to the new M3 or RS4. Both would leave it in their wakes on a track.

How do you know the C63 will be a star? The C32/C55 really wasn't.
How do you know the IS-F won't? I don't think very highly of it, but we have no proof.
How do you know the new CTS-V won't? The old one was the first great high performance Cadillac in decades.
We know the M3 will be, though... that's a given.
