AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Edmunds.com 'True market value'. What a joke!
I know we've done a few articles on this subject already, but it just makes my blood boil when so many people rely on these websites, to make sure they're geting a good deal.

The car dealers must just love it when someone comes in with one of these Edmunds quotes.

They could be the most INNACURATE PLACE on earth to figure out what is a good deal on a car.

If they were off by a hundred or two we wouldn't even say a word.

But over and over, we keep proving they are TOTALLY out to lunch with this 'True market value' pricing.

This is just one of many examples of the flaws in their system.

We priced this Hyundai Sonata today on their site...(click on the image to enlarge it)

As you can see, their 'TMV' is $100 over invoice.

What they're saying in essence, is that if you are offered a deal at $100 OVER invoice, you should feel comfortable doing the deal becuase that's what most people are paying.

Now check out this dealer ad we spied for the new Hyundai Sonata this weekend:

$4,400 BELOW invoice.

And that's BEFORE you go and negotiate with them in person.

You might even get it for less!

So the moral of the story is if you go by Edmunds.com numbers you could be paying $4,300 more than you have to!!!

If that's how inaccurate their numbers are on a low priced Hyundai, imagine how far off they would be on a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes!

The Spies say 'Spy before you buy!'

The safest way to make sure you're getting the BEST deal on your new car is to use the AutoSpies.com buying service.

You guys SHOULD push your services, however, anyone that know anything about ADs, especially car ADs, knows......

The big print giveth, the small print taketh away.

You must qualify for "loyalty, college, and military" discounts for that deal.

Even the spies couldn't get that price. unless you own a hyundai, and you're in military college.

it looks like a few more people have the same thoughts i do.

oh, 001, since you're so confident, why don't you head on down to your local hyundai dealer, and get yourself a buyers order reflecting your $5000 below invoice, then you can post it up.

mr common senseless, learn to read.

The ill-informed will always believe they are getting a good deal! Those adverts just make them feel so special. If someone prints it, well, it must be true. Those people enjoying their new hyundais can be happy (for at least 100000 miles) too. Can't we all just get along?

Fine print: One at this price.

Slaesman: "Sorry sir, that one was sold".

Oldest scam in the book.

One thing to remember about TMV: it's supposed to be an average of what people are paying. So some people pay more, and some people pay less.

Why would you want just an average deal, even if the number was accurate?
