Abu Dhabi reveals multi-million dollar Yas Marina F1 track

Next year’s F1 calendar will see the introduction of Abu Dhabi as the location for the final race, with Brazil moving into the penultimate spot.



Pictures of the track, which will be located on Yas Island and called the ‘Yas Marina Circuit’, were recently showcased to a number of F1 teams and officials, revealing a number of unique features planned for the site.

Did anyone watch the series on the Discovery channel about the building of the worlds tallest building, "The Burj", in Dubai? They may have the oil money but they're not the ones building these mega-projects.

I think that the cost of engineering projects in the oil rich countries should be made proportional to the price of oil. The more expensive oil becomes the more expensive engineering services should become.

The Burj is actually the world's tallest hotel, but not for much longer. The Rose Tower will take its place.

dubai always seems to amaze me first it was the worlds tallest hotel, then the Indoor ski resort, then the palm tree islands, the the World islands and now the F1 race track. they have money to throw anywhere they want to throw it and they will always succeed. I would love to visit there just to see what all of these record breaking structures look like

Just for clarification, Dubai is a city, not a country. It's in a country called United Arab Emirates (UAE). The capital of the UAE is Abu Dhabi (where this racetrack is!) and Abu Dhabi is famous for oil, while Dubai does NOT depend on oil to get its fortune. It depends on tourism. Dubai has no oil!

Duabi also got plenty of oil but compare to Abu Dhabi it's quite less(but u know these are all estimates, i have been listening for some 10 years now that Dubai oil will be over in 10 to 15 years and that proved wrong. We still got plenty of oil left. Same with Saudi Arab, read somewhere that if they contineo to drill oil at the present rate it would last some 200 years and in other study it said 75 something years).

btw can't wait for the Abu Dhabi race and it being the season finale is the icing on the cake.
Abu Dhabi promised, the track will be the most advanced with highest facilities. Going to visit the site soon.

Dubai is also making F1X rivalling Yas Marina. Great times for the fans.

I saw the same estimates of Saudi oil before. I don't know which to believe. I also saw in the Arab News an article claiming that the Saudis discovered an oil field that by itself could supply the world's needs for the next 250 years, at current consumption rates. But strangely, I have not seen any mention of that in the Western press.
