The new Alfa Romeo Junior will come with the latest Multiair camless 1.4-liter gasoline powerplant, to generate a naturally ventilated 105 hp and 130 hp with turbo. The valvetrain, which is activated hydraulically, adds more power to about 10 percent above the present 1.4s besides assisting fuel efficiency and lowering CO2 emission levels.

These powerplants will be utilized in the MiTo lineup with a double-clutch ‘DSG’ gearbox coming in 2011. Preceding the Junior will be the MiTo GTA which is currently being prepped for opening this spring at the Geneva Motor Show.
