Alpina B6 GT3 unveiled

Ahead of the Geneva Auto Show, Alpina decided to unveil their latest B6 GT3 model.

Based on the BMW 6 Series Coupe, Alpina returns to FIA GT3 European Championships. with their GT3 race car.

Delivering 530 hp and 720 Nm of torque from a supercharged 4.4 liter V8 engine, the Alpina B6 GT3 will be offered to both individual customers and race teams. It uses a 6-speed sequential gearbox and only weighs 2,976 lbs.

Top speed? 177 mph and accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds.

Looks real sick. I wish Speed Channel showed stuff like this racing series instead of the non-stop coverage of NASCAR and near endless episodes of Pinks and Unique Whips.

I agree that NASCAR gets way to much coverage on Speed, but it is the main racing sport in America. I personally find NASCAR really boring and way too spec for my tastes, but the owners of the NASCAR brand make a lot of money, so why change the formula? I would like to see more racing like GT3. At least we get to see cars that have some semblence of the manufacturers street cars. Speed needs to offer some balance in it's programming or else I will watch it even less than I do now. It had such potential and I am not certain what happened to that potential?

Since NASCAR has so much money They should have their own network. Pinks and Unique whips is def MTV material.
