An Audi Boxster?
There are rumours that Audi will develop a Porsche Boxster rival, to be called the R4. According to Automotive News, plans for this small sports car have caused quite a stir among the German car giants - it's a direct challenge to Porsche, which now has a near-controlling stake in VW, Audi's parent group. IMO the TT S/RS is the best Boxster competitor, but the R4 would compete with the Cayman, because it would only come in coupe.

Aren't Porsche and Audi partners?
Audi owns Volkswagon stock...Why would you want to compete with them.

Stop fighting amongts yourselfs and start fighting BMW and Mercedes.

Audi already might surpass Mercedes to be the #2 luxury manufacturer this year. Check January sales- Audi is officially ahead of Mercedes, and is edging ever closer to BMW.

Audi and Porsche are still competing. Q7 S/RS will compete with Cayenne S/Turbo, R8 competes with 911, R4 with Cayman, TT with Boxster... it's inevitable.

There's too many comparisons within the VW group. Many, many models are in very similar (if not the same) classes. LP640 and Veyron, Gallardo and 911 Turbo, R8 and 911 Carrera 4S, A8 and Phaeton, A3 and GTI, most Skoda and SEAT models...
