Another 700HP Audi RS6
The sheer number of tuning packages for the new Audi RS6 offering more than 700hp (522kW) that has turned up almost overnight just goes to show how much potential the standard car’s 5.0L V10 has.
Already we’ve seen such monstrous tuning kits from MTM and ABT Sportsline, and now we have the most powerful kit yet.

A luxurious and quite 5000lb auto that does 0-60 in 5.5 while achieving 20/22 mpg is not impressive enough for you?

The RS6 will do 0-60 in 4 or less seconds with fuel economy of arund 14/20. Audi also offers many ways of getting better than 20/22 if you are ok with a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds (all of this in a large sedan, even better fuel economy if you go for a smaller sedan)

BMW appears to be focusing more on hyrdogen. To say they are not doing anything is completely false. And before you bash the technology - you mentioned Honda above - who is also investing heavily in hydrogen.

The average fuel economy of European cars is way better than of American cars, and about the same if not a little better than what Japanese cars get. And Europeans don't have to resort to tiny kei cars to get good fuel economy.
As for the RS6, it looks like 700 horsepower is very doable with a little chip tuning.

"The European cars are built with less protection to reduce the weight of the car to squeeze extra miles on there cars. European and Asian cars would probably fail the impact testing conducted in the U.S. "
More fiction form Homer007. Cite one article stating this. Just because you make things up doesn't make it real.

Homer: well seeing that Audi was the first manufacturer to show a Hybrid vehicle back in 1996....
Did you know that 80% of the parts in an Audi are recyclable?
That they have used water baed paint before anyone else?
You want to talk about the batteries in the Prius?
Oh yeah.. these are green alright.
Audi's new TDi emits less CO2 than a Prius...

Not to defend either side here but if you are stuck in traffic - as long as you have the air conditioner on - the engine will not shut off. That is how it has been in my friends Highlander - the Prius could be different however.

Homer: And yet again Audi is the first and only Luxury Manufacturer to received 4 cars with Top pick for safety (A3, A4, A6, Q7). that means 5 star rating for Front, Side and Rear impact.
Audi offers 5 mph bumpers versus which means it costs less to fix an Audi than a Toyota for example which has 2.5 mph bumpers.

did anyone mention a VW. I don't see a single VW in the content of this post. What I do see in this post is the Audi RS6 Avant that starts @ 107,000 Euros in Germany. For comparison the M5 Touring starts @ only 96,000 Euros.
So I guess the Germans that buy this RS6 Avant only bought it because they couldn't afford the M5, oh wait. Could you please use your fancy Business School degree to calculate how the poor German bought a more expensive Audi than a BMW?

Consumer Reports rated BMW and VW the same for 2008:
Overall, the best cars sold in the U.S. are made by Honda. That's the conclusion of a recent analysis conducted by Consumer Reports that looks at the reliability, performance, fuel economy, comfort, interior fit and finish, and ergonomics of 262 vehicles we've recently tested.
Honda, with an overall score of 78, is followed closely by Toyota (75) and Subaru (72). BMW, Mazda, Nissan, and Volkswagen are tied at 71, after rounding.
So I guess you are saying your car is shit as well.

I think everyone here shoudl just chil and be thankful that Audi, BMW, MB, Jaguar, Lexus, Bentley and many other European, American and Japanese manufacturers still produce such amazing cars like this. Sure, make all these green machines for the masses, but just for a lucky few - engineers that want to push the performance envelope and the people who have been successful enough to afford those creations - let's just take a ride on the wild side. These high performance cars are a dying breed and I am privileged to be able to enjoy some of them now.
