Well, Chinese. Clearly there's no point in copying Germans since Chinese are already leapfrogged them as long as motoring of the future is concerned.

A plugin hybrid that costs 22.000 USD, has an all electric range of 60 miles, an extended range of coupe hundred miles when long trips are needed and is as spacious as VW Jetta inside. Only you don't need to fill it up.

What Germans have to offer? Nothing. They sunk billions of Euros in their dirty diesels (a lot of them still sells even without particulate filters) which require much more crude oil to be driven than any Japanese hybrid ever made.

I bet German car industry should stick to processing Bratwursts and Sauerkraut. That's the only product they offer which has some future ahead.

As long as they supply Walmart with slave labour goods, brainless westerners will ignore the piracy if they can still get 33% off (they'll even forget the fact the more they shop at Walmart, the more incentive it is to continue shipping jobs overseas).

Let's see if President Jesus has the balls to call China out on this, or if he'll follow in the footsteps of his mentor Dubya Bush in letting corporations get away with anything.

The country with the most to fear is Korea though, since China can copy better and provide it at 1/10th the cost of even Hyundai.

Actually it's not the Chinese' fault that they have cars that look more than 50% like the cars we are used to. The companies actually sell body panels of their models to the Chinese. I know this for a fact because I have contacts with manufacturers in China. All it takes is one guy from the Toyota camp to send over a mold of an RX and things will start mass producing. I'm not defending my motherland but it's for sure a shameless copy. However Toyota is guilty of that as well with the Lexus LS(which I do own). The long wheel base version has that Maybach styled rear seat, I wonder where they got that from?.

The LS rear looks NOTHING like a Maybach. Nice try, China copies, pure and simple. If they can't steal a mold, they'll make one after they buy and tear apart a car.

This is all over the news in Canada but not a word on CNN because they're too busy reporting on what kind of dog the Obama's are going to get. China caught spying yet again, but everybody's more focused on what sort of 'everyday low price' Walmart is featuring today.

Oh my god. When the japs copy, its ok. Because all the better reliabilty stuff and so on... JD Power ... cupholder ... bla bla

But when the chinese copy, its bad? Oh well, it is a shame that the public argument varies in terms of who is copying.

And when the Germans copy the Japanese, the Germans suddenly become the originators. LOL, whatever.

There is a difference between copying and piracy. Copying generally don't keep the same part #s on their copied parts. Pirating probably has the original manufacturers name on the part. Did anyone check, the steering wheel probably as an L on it for Leung or something.
