Are European Ford Vehicles Coming to the US?

We all know that European Ford models are considered much better and superior to the ones introduced in the North Americas, and consumers keep demanding that Ford introduce these models available for the US.

Reports say that Ford will start to introduce the European models in the Americas as soon as starting next year.

The report also stated that some models will include the European version of the Focus, the all-new Mondeo, the top-selling S-Max and Galaxy. One thing for sure is that the European Ford Focus will not be introduced here since a new generation will debut at the Detroit Auto Show.

We already saw a similar action taken by General Motors just yesterday. GM announced that it was going to add the Opel Astra from its European market and plan to make success here in the United States. But hey, who knows, you might see those European cars popping up anytime soon.

Its a logical thing to do considering savings on development costs and changing preference of American buyers to "euro" cars. Stick an attractive price on these and maybe they've some winners.

Mondeo would be the revolutionary car, I think. That and the Euro Focus.

(i.) European cars are more expensive to build than many cars built in the US
(ii.) The US dollar is very weak compared to the Euro and to the UK pound
(iii.) The US car market is very competitive
(iv.) VW Audi allegedly lost hundreds of millions of dollars in the US market last year.

So how in hell is Ford going to make money on importing these fine vehicles into the US market?
Is it going to price them like BMWs?
Is it just trying to stem the lose of market share in the short term, without regard to profit?

Ford had better hurry up and get their Euro rigs to N America QUICK...same for GM...Both companies have lost total touch with what N Americans expect in a vehicle...Couple that with economics that no longer allow the US mfrs to make a car equal in materials and overall quality/fit and finish to Asia and Europe and there is simply no choice but to ante up the best they can produce (not the "second best" that we get right now)

Look at GMs up coming cars and how its sharing designs from around the world not just designing 3 differnt cars for the same market segment. Ford needs to follow GM lead or at least look at what they are doing. Ford needs to and has for a very long time, build its Europe cars here for sale here. And when Europe redesigns a car we should get it here and not keep the old one.. Focus was

All this is very funny to me.

I left Iraq one year ago.

They call their stripped-down versions of cars; those with carbeurators, no air bags or safety glass, and no automatic tramsmissions--European-style cars. They call nicely-equipped and safe cars, American-style cars.
